No hockey or Jays on now so checking out the Mets Brewers game. 3-0 Mets in the 5th. Also it's the 25th anniversary of the sausage run!
They were talking about the Tampa bullpen starters and I think this could be an interesting change to the game. Teams would still have 2-3 starters who can consistently eat up innings at a low ERA but the remaining games would be a bullpen collaboration. I also wonder if this could change the closer role. Why should you leave your best relief pitcher on the bench to only come in late in games? A run in the 9th is worth as much as one in the 1st. Have him start every two days going once through the order instead.

I hope nobody recommends Hanley to the Jays. His price will probably still be high considering his name, but given he can't get on base nowadays, I'd pass. It'd be counter productive. Doesn't seem like the Jays' management philosophy nowadays anyway.
Not sure if anyone cares much, but Astros are +125 run differential. In May!!
Having three (!!!) starters with ERA's under 2.05 doesn't suck. In the AL no less. You know your staff is filthy when Keuchel is the weak link right now, and his ERA is 3.39. Might go down as the greatest starting staff ever if they keep it up.

^ Yeah Harris allowed 2 of the runs himself in relief of Giles. Seems they both “earned” a blown save. But Giles is supposed to be a closer and he has joined a long line of flame throwers who suddenly couldn’t get guys out any more.
