Man, I wish I was enough of a degenerate to throw 50k down on this, given my certainty of the outcome. What else would you expect of the Flames?

Proving, once again that the guys, if not the coach, know how to win.

If this is the "best" game the team can muster together under ward, that is far from encouraging.

It was a fun win, but we don't need to push some false narrative that just because the players executed, that ward's systems suddenly are good.
Agreed. Special teams and BSD is what won this game. The Flames capitalized on their chances while BSD bailed them out like 3 times in a span of 2 PPs early in the 2nd. The PK was great tonight though. The team also was much more engaged tonight which was good to see.

5v5 was definitely in Toronto's favor though and by quite a bit. I agree, if this performance was the best the Flames could muster under Ward, that's an even bigger indictment on Ward's capability as a head coach.

2 points was great. BSD was great. The players looking engaged was great. But overall the Flames still need to clean it up a ton 5v5

The false narrative is that you actually believe you can evaluate coaching.

Posters are coming back after a 3 game CP absence to boast about the coach now
Just enjoy the win, you haven't been here for a week, no need to get arrogant.

Didn’t catch most of the game tonight but good win.

One thing I’ve noticed this year is Monahan has played really well against the Leafs top centres.

Head to Head Against Matthews

TOI: 12 Minutes
Corsi: 60.7%
xGF: 59.6%
GF:2
GA: 1

Head to Head Against Tavares

TOI: 16 Minutes
Corsi For: 61.1%
xGF%: 60.5%
GF:2
GA:0

Neither guy on the Leafs is that fleet of foot so that probably helps, tends to struggle more head to head against speedsters like McDavid or Mackinnon.

Decided to watch a movie instead of the game so it was an incredibly great surprise to see the end result! Way to go boys, and especially nice to see Bo Horvat's caddy get on the scoresheet with a goal and an assist. Welcome back Sean!
