Best effort of the season from everyone, engagement level was there from the puck drop, classic BSD.

That's the team I expected the Flames to be when the season started.

I went to bed with a smile on my face.

Winning is good.

Man Toronto media is toxic. So much Francis type reporting going on there

They're going hard on Hutchinson. Like the goalie is the reason you couldn't score on 7 powerplays, jesus tap dancing christ

One 5 on 3, one 6-4.

I like the win. Kind of feels like a sucker punch when Toronto wasn’t expecting it but we will take it.

It's good to see BSD making big saves and looking confident again. He made some great stops. He's also such a likeable personality that it made his prior weak performances that bit more deflating. Seeing him return to looking and feeling good is heartening.

Well, wasn't a perfect game... but was pretty damn good. BSD was there when he needed to be (and played great) and yes got a bit lucky on a couple posts.

That might be the fastest the Flames have played this year. They seemed to have energy all over the ice and, other than when on the PP, didn't allow any odd man rushes against. Really need to be a bit more careful on the PP though.

Overall great win and hopefully a confidence booster.

I'm not so sure about your portrayal of events. First off it was Lindholm, not Mangiapaine who passed it to Bennett. I cannot find a replay of the missed empty net so you might be right? Has anyone else seen it anywhere?

I do know NHL.com doesnt have it as a block, the play is listed as: 18:36: MISS CGY #93 BENNETT, Wrist, Wide of Net, Off. Zone, 44 ft.

Regardless, cool that Lindholm was giving Sam another goal. Unfortunate that Bennett couldn't give him the assist.

Ultimately it had no effect on the game anyways but it is interesting to note that the coach had Bennett out on the ice with the goalie pulled. Fire Ward! Am I doing this right?

Looks like Razzy and his fiancée are expecting their first baby, due in August.

Another solid game from Tanev. And Gio was a beast.
actually its a good recipe - dont give up PP goals and have your goalie play well will get you a lot of wins

Perhaps this is one of the things that Tkachuk learned about that motivated him. One of his buddies had great news and wanted a win to top off the day!

Just as good...she is Swedish.

Calgary is becoming Sweden West.

Is this right? I thought he met her while playing in Ontario.

When Backlund's daughter was born he struggled on the ice for a couple months.

Hmmm...maybe I assumed as much as anything.

I just know i heard/read they have been together since they were teenagers, but he did spend some of his teens in Barrie.

And looking at her hair...that is as Swedish a trait as exists, but that doesn't mean anything either.

Bennett, Tkachuk and Monahan scoring are probably the 3 players that needed a goal the most.

Having goalie depth with Rittich is huge as well. Hopefully Markstrom is back soon and we play Rittich a bit more.
