If you're on Telus it looks like most (maybe all?) of the IPL will be on channel 2312. Info on timing of the games is on 2313.

Go Knight Riders!

Is this the year cp gets fired up for Ipl again? As the original Chennai fan I could get into this again. My kids wake me up early enough to watch

The IPL is in full swing and there have been some amazing catches this season (Boult earlier in the season and Rashid Khan earlier in the same match come to mind).

However, this one taken by AB DeVilliers is probably his submission to be part of the Avengers. One of the most bonkers catches I have ever seen. Kohli's face after the catch really says it all. It's almost like his brain is refusing to believe that the catch was taken. The crowd volume noticeably gets louder.

Go Sunrisers! Prior to this IPL season there was a lot of noise in NZ that Williamson should give up T20 in order to focus on the longer formats (the thought being that his game wasn't suited for the faster pace and higher required strike rate for T20 batsmen) but he has basically reinvented his game to become one of the top runscorers this season.

Hope he can lead his team to the championship!

A bowling display as Sunrisers were only able to get 139 batting first but Super Kings are now 57/5 after 11 overs. Winner goes straight to the final! It's on Telus 2312 for those who have it.

Looks like Chennai are going to win, need just 6 off the last over. But they are 8 down.

Chennai take the title in what sounds like it was a thrilling final. Shane Watson hit 100 off 51 balls, although his first 10 were all dots so really it was 100 of 41.

Williamson finishes he season as top run scorer so I'm happy about that, but too bad his team couldn't quite close it out.

Things have really hit rock bottom for Steve Smith and David Warner. They are playing cricket in Canada! Smith plays for Toronto and Warner for Winnipeg in the Global T20 Canada League.

Does anyone in Canada know or care about this competition? It is a strange one with 5 Canadian teams and a West Indies team and all games played at the same place in Toronto. It seems more like a plan to get some international TV money in the cricket off season than a legitimate attempt to grow the game in Canada.

The first Australia vs India test is underway. This is India's best chance to win their first test series in Australia with the locals at rock bottom.

I had to laugh a bit at India. They refused to play the first test on the flat wickets of Brisbane or Perth basically forcing the first match to be in Adelaide. This backfired as they lost 4 wickets before lunch.

Yay more cricket talk!

It’s been a crazy few months. England was historically demolished in the West Indies, India finally beat Australia in Australia but then lost a one day series to them at home, and craziest of all Sri Lanka won a test series in South Africa something a South Asian team had never done.

The IPL should be fun and then soon after is the World Cup.

I feel a little left out as a Shaw customer. I do miss catching all of the IPL action though. Back when it was on Sportsnet World it helped me justify a subscription for a couple of months. And I subscribed to Willow.tv for a season as well. Unfortunately I have drifted a little in the past couple of years but do miss it.

From what I can gather, Willow.tv has sub-licensed IPL to Bell, Rogers, and Telus, so you can no longer subscribe via Willow. Willow's site even has a banner telling you to call your cable provider. That's a shame as Willow apps were available for just about every platform, even the old Apple TVs.

It does appear that a service called Hotstar is offering all of the matches live in Canada for $12.99/month. Seems legal and legit at first glance. Would have to pay for two months and then cancel, but for $26, that's not bad to be able to catch every match.

Does anyone have any experience with Hotstar?

Well I'm feeling in the mood, so I took the plunge and subscribed to Hotstar. It is a subsidiary of Star India, which is a huge company that is actually owned by Disney. So no concerns about legitimacy.

I guess I'll find out if it is worth it once the matches begin. They've got apps on iOS, Android, Apple TV 4+, etc. It also claims that all matches will be carried live and on demand. I hope that they have a "hide score" option so I can catch up on some of those really early ones once I get to work.

Worst case scenario, I'm out $12.99.
