Pretty easy game to predict seeing Marty Turco seems to put on his Superman outfit every time he plays the Flames;
If Turco starts: Stars win 3 - 2
If Stephan starts: Flames win 4 - 2

That's his cap hit. He's actually making $8.5 million this year.... Just sayin'.
But your point is a good one.

There's no excuse why the team shouldnt treat this game like a playoff game and come out fired up. If they arent able to hold off the Queens of Overacheivement for the division title then it would be pretty discouraging on whether they'll be able to handle the pressure of the playoffs.

Any word if Curtis will start? Peter Maher has been talking about that possibility the last few days ...

Peter Maher said that Kipper will get the start tonight.
They've had a few days off for rest and reflection. They should be ready and refocused. Is that enough R words?
Three things to look for tonight:
- Team defense
- No stupid penalties
- Good goaltending
I see a win tonight especially since Vancouver is within 3pts of us now. No more games given away on poor defensive efforts.
Flames win 3-1.
Go Flames Go!

Just to note, I would say this is the first actual MUST WIN game of the season. A loss here and the nucks will surely take the divisional lead. I usually rage against people for calling every game a MUST WIN, but I think this one fits the bill

Meh. Even if the 'Nucks take the division lead, they still have to keep it for the rest of the season.
I think jockeying for position through the stretch could be just the right tonic.
The funniest thing about the whole deal is that everyone is going to cry and moan that we suck if Vancouver overtakes us, like they are an awful team or something.

So I see Dallas has bottom-5 PP and PK. I really hope it doesn't end up with like three PP goals for the Stars while the Flames go 0-for-6 on the PP.

Hopefully this changes.

Turco can be beat if someone hangs out real close to his crease. If the Flames can get him off his game, they'll have this game in the bag. In fact, if they come out physical they can probably get Dallas in penalty trouble early on.
Flames win tonight.

Same thing with Kipper, more and more teams are figuring out that if you get in Kippers grill, he gets shakey and goals start going in. Toronto killed us that way. The D-men need to do a better job of keeping guys out of the crease. Gonna be at the game tonight, I think a simple Olli,Olli,Olli chant in the intro will be effective! Let's show him what a real hockey town is made of!

6-1 Stars
I don't buy it that the Flames have got their run & gun "fun" pond hockey out of their system.

But wouldn't they score more if they were running and gunning? So like a 6-4 final?

4 - 1 Flames. Dallas with a late one.
Apparently the Canucks are not going to do the Flames any favors, and the Flames will have to take the division by winning.
The winning ways start tonight.
