It was a really odd hire to begin with. I wonder what he did.

I am guessing the players were getting tired of getting drooled on.

I wonder if he and Dorian saw eye to eye and with with Melnyk out of the picture he lost his support.

The good news is that he'll be back on television soon...

I'd completely forgotten he worked there. I was just wondering why there's been a lack of creepiness on some of the US broadcasts, and then was like oh yeah there's no McGuire.

Upcoming thoughts and prayers for US hockey fans watching from home in the next week or two.

Your definition of good news is as suspect as the Senators hiring of McGuire.

I must have been the only one unaware that he actually worked for the Senators.

I personally loved the hire for the Sens. It meant I didn't need to listen to him on my TV.

Maybe he was trying to get them to sign his son.

I always found it a funny hire. From the start he started saying "Mr. Melnyk" and almost bowing, like he was eternally grateful for being hired. Then talking about the strategy of big four something-or-the-other. Purely his own made up philosophy. Definitely an owner hire (at a discount, no doubt). Surely put to pasture now that EM is no longer around. I think I predicted a year and a half at most, and I don't think it's even been a year.
