I went with the chickadee...such gentle little birds, so trusting of people, and such a nice little call. Here all year round and I can't think of anything they do that would make anyone or their pets mad.

What are the ones where they seem to live 100s in a tree, chirping away, but are virtually invisible?

Probably the Chickadee.
That's all I ever see except for Robins and Magpies. I've seen maybe a dozen Blue Jays ever. So I'd probably vote Chickadee.

It’s the magpie. Has to be. Any other opinion is wrong.

I gave a magpie a french fry, and now it occasionally shows up in my garage and hangs out with me or taps on my windows.
I know I could pick him up, but have kept some separation. They are very smart.

The magpie might not be the bird we want, but it’s the bird we deserve.

Probably sparrows...rarely see chickadees anywhere near those numbers. The male sparrow looks a wee little bit like a chickadee, wee little bit, only because of the black, but under the neck. The male sparrow is bigger as well.

What is wrong with you people? Edmonton has the magpie, they can keep it. It suits them. Any other bird. Don't be like Edmonton.

If that’s had to suggest a bird to city council the bird is my middle finger… however our bird should be the Pelican they come here in the warm months and are amazing. Large and in charge.
Storks are cool to.

When I lived in Lethbridge, I walked to Tim Hortons and bought a box of Timbits. Two magpies saw me walk out with the box and followed me home by jumping along the hydro wires and squawking all the way. When I got home, I thought what the hell and threw a couple on the lawn for them and went inside. When I looked outside later, there were about ten of them standing at the door.
I personally find them hilarious and really intelligent, but I can see why some people find them to be a nuisance.

I love magpies, they are so awesome. If you take the time to interact with one you can see the intelligence almost immediately. They will follow every move you make and if you start playing with or leading them they're with you every step of the way. It's incredible.

my dog destroyed a magpie in the backyard about a month back. wing was toast but he wasn't dead and i opened a gate and it hopped out the back yard. 5 mins later his friends were back for revenge. There were like 20 of them in my backyard.
Thinking back i'm pretty sure they were there for a free cannibal lunch.
Also the only bird i have ever hit with my car was a magpie on 16th by crowchild. I wasn't even speeding. It was an expensive bunny lunch.

We should probably be grateful that no populist has suggested an official Cow at this point.

I don't think you know your birds. The chickadee is one of the quietest birds.
