Um, what did I just see? Rafa turns into Zverev and Denis breaks Nadal to take set 2. We need a 3rd set folks.

Rafa was just curious about exactly how many opportunities you have to give Denis before he actually takes advantage. Had like six separate chances to take that set before he finally did.

Shapo doing Shapo things to start set 3

Edit: Rafa hands the break right back to Denis.

Doing Shapo things indeed, he's just going for broke and swinging for the fences. Not a long term strategy for success but Rafa looks extremely shaky.

Denis has a real chance to pull out a win here if he can get out of his own way. Rafa is struggling with pretty regular groundstrokes at the moment, if Denis can cut out the unforced errors, it would be a big help.

Oh man, Rafa does not look good, was resting on the towel box and now limping back to the chair.

I thought Rafa was going to retire there, but it's just a change of racquet.

Edit: This sucks, this match was really getting good late in set 2 / beginning of set 3. I mean, I'm happy for Denis, but hate seeing Rafa hurt.

Denis played a very smart 3rd set and wins 1-6 7-5 6-2. The big question is will Rafa be healthy enough to play at Roland Garros?

I had a dentist appointment and missed the match but it sounds like things were not good for Nadal today

By the sounds of it, I highly doubt it sadly. Maybe Wimbledon but I could honestly see him staying away until the North American hard court swing..... remember when he started the year 20-0 ahhhh simpler times they were back then.

Bianca and Iga are on court and on serve in set 1 - Iga broke first and then Bianca broke right back.

Edit: Bianca breaks again and is serving at 3-2 in set 1

Edit 2: And then Iga breaks right back.

Iga blinks serving for the opening set at 5-3 and we're back on serve. Bianca certainly holding her own against the world #1

How can a Masters 1000 event not have Hawk-Eye or FoxTenn?

Iga takes the first set in a tie-break and the questionable line call certainly had an impact.

Man, I'm starting to think part of the reason Barty retired is she realized how dominant Iga is likely to be for the foreseeable future.

Bianca about to get bageled, because the Iga shows no mercy. All hail the Iga.

That's the 2nd line call this umpire has botched.

Edit: Polish bagel successfully delivered.

Shapo is just chaos incarnate. Bunch of bad serving and terrible errors to go down 0-40. Battles back to deuce with some much more restrained play and a couple of good serves. Has a chance to get the game and hits an overhead in the dirt - not even the net - on a ball that was clearly going out. Then plays an epic point where he's all over the court to produce an error to bring up game point aaaand... double fault where the second one doesn't even get to the net.

I mean for ####'s sake, what even is this? Does this player HAVE coaching? How is this possible at this level? He won the game, thankfully.

He was working with Andy Murray's former coach Jamie Delgado, but I heard they parted ways.
