Because ticket master themselves are scalpers. Those tickets you see right away for 10X face value aren't customers or even small scalping companies legitimately acquiring tickets at 10am and reposting at 10:01am.
That's Ticketmaster blatantly holding onto inventory and then selling to major scalping sites they have deals with. So they can get around the credit card required rule on the secondary market that they're blatantly apart of. But god knows they'll make sure that individual people can't profit off the tickets, only them, haha.

I absolutely love the Hip, my favourite band ever.
But I hate Ticketmaster and their platinum 'rip-off' tickets more, so I guess I'll take my chances with the general sale on Friday.

Keep trying. I got them on my 8th or 9th try.
Just found 2 in sec 214 row 20. They are still there - ticketmaster is the worst.

You can still transfer them using Ticketmaster, but as far as CP's own rules go: the same as hockey for this concert.

I've been stuck in "verification limbo" for 20 minutes now.
Even tried for platinum prices only to be met with "there was an error processing your request" when I got through. FML!
Is that a browser issue? Chrome seemed to be responding differently than IE with the captchas.
How can you guys see that there are only singles left?

London show, got 4 tickets floor section front left, row J.
Had two Platinum tickets for the Friday Toronto show, but could find nobody crazy enough to pay $650 for 2nd row. There are Platinum tickets available right now for most venues. Range from $650-750. Luckily London is a small enough arena that they didn't do Platinum that I can tell.
