The Ducks collapse is my 3rd favourite story of the season after the Flames success and the Oilers tire fire.

Not sure what you're belly aching about... we get to watch Gaudreau, Monahan and Lindholm make plays like that not only on a nightly basis, but almost every shift.

Other fans should be jealous of us because our team is crazy-good.

On Dec 17th, the Ducks were 19-11-5 and 2nd in the division, 3 points behind the Flames.

Since then, they are 2-10-4. They have dropped to 19th in the conference, tied with ARI, and 20 points behind the Flames. They have been shut out 3 times and scored 1 goal 6 times. They have been outscored 27-53.

And they're still ahead of the Oilers

Default January 23 with six games.

Elias Petersson is made of glass.

He was shoved by Carolina’s rookie goalie while standing in front of the net, fell down, and then limped off the ice. He played the rest of the game, but there is a lot of angst on local Vancouver radio this AM about whether he should be going to the ASG, or if it would be better for their 20-year-old rookie to stay home and heal up. Pettersson has already missed games twice this season because of injuries.

Bad teams are eventually going to draft good players so it's inevitable. I actually liked all the buzz he is/was generating -- takes some of the shine off of McDavid (Pettersson is obviously not as fast but has a better shot). Same with Matthews landing in Toronto, and even Laine in Winnipeg.

Now all we need is Ottawa to win the lottery and draft Hugh -- oh wait nevermind...

Meh. Almost every team has a guy that is really good. It's who you put around them that matters. See McDavid, Connor.

And maybe he'll go the Tyler Meyers route and have his rookie season also be his career season.

Loving these OOTs lately.

Also really enjoying watching the Ducks swirl around the toilet bowl.
