O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribbon’d wreaths—for you the shores a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
I have all the games from 2004 on VHS, but glad to see this make it here. That opening was great. As was Game 6 Detroit.
Game 6 of the SCF from CBC isn't on YouTube. That opening jinxed the Flames as much as it gave chills.
The Espn footage of this game doesnt show how absolutely clutch Conroy was on the second goal. It was a set play between him and Gelinas, since Martin set up wide. But Conroy had to poke it forward, but to too far forward, get a good handle on the puck, and then get it across to Gelinas.
Gelinas did his part.
Neale and Cole don't catch it as much as the replay does, on how good a play that is from Conny.

Yeah, when I put this together I used a combo of the CBC and ESPN audio because ESPN definitely recognized the set faceoff play:

Wish I could be there for the ceremony. Cheer loud!!
When I was a kid in the late 90s (one of Iggy's first seasons), my parents took my brother and I to maybe our second or third game (I remember cheering for Kidd in our first). We were obviously excited so went to near the benches hoping to get an autograph on our new flames flag and vuvuzela (which were really popular then). Many players ignored us and walked by, but one nice guy stopped to sign my flag.
Of course as a kid you're going to fixate on that one name. So that day the only player I watched all game was #12. I finally got his jersey a few years later for my 13th birthday; the horsehead black jersey when Iggy wore an A is now framed. To see his first 50 goal season, and then the city finally get back behind the team in 2004 was amazing.
Some 20+ years later and he remains my favorite player of all time. Can't help but smile even seeing the guy in interviews.

This is still one of my favorite Iggy moments. It set the tone for the rest of the series and sent a message to the spoiled, stacked Red Wings that the Flames weren't gonna be an easy out like everyone predicted. O' captain, my captain!
One of the best captains in NHL history, first ballot hall of famer. Loved watching him stomp the Oilers and Canucks over and over. Loved listening to all the interviews he gave and seeing all of his interaction with fans, other players, media. A true role model. Wish I could go to the game on Saturday. Wish he could play RW for us now!
for me, nothing encapsulated Jarome at his finest as The Shift did... just a bull in a china shop, playing without his helmet, hammering that shot and Oleg stuffing home the rebound... courtesy of AC
Was Meeting a friend for a Sunday afternoon movie so I was just getting out of my car in the Chinook Mall west parking lot. As I stepped out, I noticed this super hot blonde walked by me and I couldn’t help but look. Daymn, she looked good. Then noticed behind her was her in shape boyfriend so I was thinking “it’s always the hot ones who end up with a gym rat. I bet he’s your typical MMA d*ucheba....HOLY SH*T! IT’S JAROME IGINLA!!”
So I froze. Froze perfectly still. Just in shock that he’s within few feet away from me. I noticed he noticed me (without looking) but carried on with his wife’s shopping bags. It looked like he was tired and just wanted to go home and didn’t wanted to be bothered. Which worked for me because I wasn’t sure what to do.
And that was the day that Jarome Iginla didn’t beat me up for ogling his wife

Don't post here very often but felt the need to since it's Iginla.
My favorite Iginla moment was that last game of the 07-08 season when he scored his 50th goal and then the class act hand shake line for Trevor Linden. I screamed soo loud after that goal that I woke my parents (live in Sweden so it was in the middle of the night) Still get goosebumps from that.
I really wanted us to sign him last summer over Jagr. Will always be my favorite! Wish I could meet him one day!
