From who lol. Who wants to pay Chris Paul $43 million in three years? He's maybe a buyout candidate but I doubt he gives up the green. They'd have to tack on a first rounder to dump him, though they certainly have enough of those coming up.
Sounds like Miami is interested
Always remember, The cap problem in a few years is usually someone else’s problem as most GMs are fired by then !

True, and Riley is gonna retire soon so if he leaves them totally screwed it ain't no thing. Still wouldn't give anything up for him though, he's a negative asset.

The NBA has always been about circumventing the rules of tampering somehow, more though fellow player relationships. The league is shady but I’m not surprised. What I will say though is the uncle isn’t really an agent so knowing all the rules is probably not his forte. Wouldn’t surprise me as it was a fairly unethical deal they made to get a player under contract to request a deal. I doubt real agents in pro sports would be involved with this stuff directly.

So players would then have A) A legit agent to process paperwork and deal with contract formalities and B) An off the board "representative" to do all the dirty work to tamper on their behalf outside any CBA bounds.
I guess the NBA needs to clean this up somehow, though I bet they are pretty happy with how the power disbursement went this off season if they were honest.
It will be interesting to see if anything changes.
This is why it's hard to get behind basketball as a sport sometimes. 12 NBA quality players say no to playing for their country. I can understand four or five, but twelve?

Yeah. So selfish these guys should risk hundreds of millions of dollars to play for free in a meaningleas tournament

There are no players who turned down the offer who are in a contract year.
Professional athletes play pretty much year round these days anyway, and the intensity levels are way down on international play.
Granted, the host countryis China this year, so it's not like other years when you can tell your girlfriend or wife that 6 week vacation is in Greece or Australia.
I would actually get behind a player saying that for political or ethical reasons they will not play in China, but that doesn't seem to be what's happening here.
It just makes me into a fair weather fan, but that's alright too.

Read up on Andrew Wiggins allegedly asking Basketball Canada for money a couple years back. There were denials (because management didn't want that getting out), but clearly someone in management spilled the beans. In some pro sports it's all about the money. In this case, I don't know how much money Basketball Canada makes, but I don't think it's much, so the players should play for exposure to a country being behind you. This is some selfish stuff here.
So Cousins tore his ACL and will probably miss the whole year. 20 months ago he was probably at worst a top three center in the league and guaranteed a huge payday, and now his career looks shot. What a brutal run for him.
