Justified, a new series on FX
Anyone else see the previews for this? Timoth Olyphant and Walton Goggins! Looks oustanding and FX has a history of some great series.
Premiers March 16

I suppose this is something we won't see north of the border?

I don't know. There were an awful lot of The Shield fans here so I assume it will be available somewhere.

Anyone else catch the premier? Thoughts? Walton Goggins delivered, as usual, but with the ending I'm wondering if this thing is going to take a quick nose dive into rinse and repeat land. I was hoping for a continuous storyline. That's not exactly impossible based on the premier, but it ain't exactly a guarantee either. I'll be watching next week!

It's coming to SuperChannel later in the year. But does anyone subscribe to SuperChannel?

I'm a big fan of Olyphant since Deadwood, and Goggins was amazing in the Shield. He had some unreal tour de force performances in the last couple seasons especially. I'm gonna give this show a chance just based on those two guys alone.
For those who don't know. FX is an American station, a brother station to FOX. It's only available in the states as far as I know unless you have illegal satellite. This show is not available in Canada, but i didn't hear about it being shown on Super Channel. I'm not gonna wait and am actually downloading the pilot right now.

I'm also a big fan of Olyphant, He's done some great stuff and seems to be one of those Actors that has taken a long, slow ride in terms of rising to Greatness.
I Recently saw him in "High Life" and again, he excelled!
IMDB Profile of "High Life" Here
I will definitely check out this show!!!

What's the premise behind the show?

For nerds, Olyphant was Hitman, and yes, I am the only person who enjoyed that movie.

Just finished watching the first episode. Mixed review from me. It was okay. Had some strong scenes, but I felt the overall tone was lacking something and some of the dialogue just seemed uncomfortable at times.
I'm definitely gonna watch a few more episodes, but I'm not hooked by any stretch yet, but that's what I usually say after starting any series. Sopranos notwithstanding. I was hooked instantly.

Basically, from the first episode. Timothy Olyphant is a US Marshall transferred to his former hometown in Kentucky after an incident in Miami that left him in trouble. There seems to be a dark side to his character that will be developed in future episodes, but as of right now, he's a pretty generic badass US Marshall. I'm sure there will be plenty more that I can add to the premise after a few more episodes, but after one episode, it's nothing out of the ordinary.
The show is based on a book written by Elmore Leonard who is the Executive Producer of the show and is best known for his writing on Jackie Brown, Out of Sight, Get Shorty and 310 to Yuma.

Had an idea!
|
Is it realistic or do they blow the actions scenes by making sure it stays family friendly?

Walton Goggins played a very large role in this first episode. Where will it go from here? I can only hope that he continues to play a huge role.

It is FX...home of The Shield and Sons of Anarchy. There's no family friendly concerns.

It's a FX Show, so pretty much anything goes. Outside of f words, it's just like a normal cable show. They don't hold back.
And the no f word thing is not a big deal at all. It sure as hell didn't take anything away from the shield.
