Default Piers Morgan Live cancelled

Not a surprise I guess considering his somewhat liberal viewpoints and the fact that he is a foreigner... both big no no's for a good chunk of American viewers.

Still, I enjoyed the show a lot more than when Larry King was around.

I liked that he was the strongest anti-gun voice on mainstream TV.

Piers is a bombastic ahole. Surprised it took so long to dump him. Enjoyed King much more.

Yes, you're right. The fact that a good chunk of America demanded his deportation for his anti-gun stance certainly shows this is a problem with CP.

Claiming that that is why he was cancelled is ridiculous, which is my point.

Exactly what I was thinking.

I really liked his show. I can't see him staying on with CNN or going to one of the other channels, like Fox.

I loved it when he took on the pro-gun nut-balls back when Sandy Hook happened. That was a great series of interviews.

Piers Morgan is AWFUL, that's probably why he was canned in America after he was canned in Britain.

It's not though. So you, in theory, have no valid point.

Right, because the majority of CNN viewers are pro-gun, anti-foreigners. The OP's statement is akin to suggesting Wayne Brady's talk show was cancelled because there are lots of racists in the US. Piers was cancelled because his show was garbage.

Yes there is a long-standing history of American's listening to foreigners in regards to problems within their country. Especially the British.

No, it isn't.

Morgan rubbed a lot of viewers the wrong way, and was HEAVILY criticised for both his political stance and his nationality in light of headlining an American news hub. If you think that neither of those things factored in to his cancellation, then you're a silly goose. CP didn't just make that stuff up, so you saying that is like... well it's like saying Wayne Brady's show got cancelled because there are lots of racists in the US.

Just plain silly.

A good chunk? The petition has just over 100,000 signatures. I would not consider 0.0003% of the population a good chunk.

For as much as a good chunk of CP likes to discuss American politics they sure don't know a thing about the U.S., its political system, and just how many people reside within the country.

I was making a statement based on his own assumption. He is the one you can accuse of having a holier than thou attitude. My mistake was not quoting this in the OP.

Quote:
“Look, I am a British guy debating American cultural issues, including guns, which has been very polarizing, and there is no doubt that there are many in the audience who are tired of me banging on about it.”

I think that's what killed him, after Sandy Hook when he went after the gun culture a lot of Americans tuned him out. Murica doesn't need a Brit telling them how to be the best country in the world.

There are many people who call out American gun culture and don't get tuned out. I found Piers Morgan to be pompous, condescending, and unduly argumentative toward his guests, kind of like Nancy Grace.

I don't know what to make of the guy. On one hand I applaud his anti-gun stance and how he had no issues asking the hard questions but on the other hand he's the poster boy for the British Snob stereotype.
