Default Doom Patrol is simply awesome

I've been watching this show for a couple of weeks now and I really can't help but want to shower it with praise.

- Mr Nobody, played by the actor who played the pilot dude in Firefly, is a great antagonist. His one-liners are superb and worth watching the series alone. He also breaks the fourth wall at every opportunity and it's glorious.
- The main group of characters is quirky, quippy and generally just fun. I'd personally never heard of any of these comic book characters besides Cyborg before, but pretty much everyone has grown on me real quick. Crazy Jane, Rita, and Cliff are highly entertaining, and Cyborg has some nice one-liners too.
- The episode concepts and worldbuilding are pretty out-there too. And the reactions to the absurdity are just as fun as the absurdity itself. There's an episode that parodies 90s chick flick romcoms, an episode where the cast goes inside of a goat, an antagonist who eats peoples' beardhairs to become conscient of their entire lifetimes... and that's me holding back on spoiling the crazier stuff.

Bear with the first episode or so, it's not the best in the world outside of Mr Nobody's lines. I really enjoy the script, if you haven't noticed.

Highly recommend checking this show out.

P.S. For the record, although this is supposed to be a spinoff of DC's Titans, it's been confirmed to exist 100% in its own continuity and any connection between the series has been retconned as never happening. So don't worry about that.

Crazy Jane is really dominating the show, we keep seeing darker and more malicious characters in there. Cliff is fun, I'm not on board with elastogirl though.

Alan Tudyk (sp?) is awesome in everything he does. He's a leaf on the wind.

There's a whole ton of absurdity in this show, and we learned that there will be cheese after the apocalypse.

Staring contest.

This looks interesting. Based on your recommendation I think I'll check it out.

Thanks.

I'm an episode behind and I do like the show... but why does no one ever age? The characters are the same age regardless of what decade we flashback too. I'm basically assuming it's because Mr. Nobody is an unreliable narrator but it just seems odd that Chief and Jane look the same in 1977 as they do now.

Just watched this week's Doom Patrol. Great episode and the series looks ready to head towards its finale with only two more episodes left. I saw on reddit people suggesting this is the best live action to come out of DC since The Dark Knight, and I have to say I agree. Arrow Season 5 and Wonder Woman were pretty good, but this is a step above.

This is my favourite show right now. I just finished the Jane Patrol episode. I'm trying not to burn through episodes too fast, because I will be sad when it is all done.

FYI - Season 2 is about 4 episodes in now. I bought Crave specifically so I can watch this show legally. It's a great show.

So I get the feeling not many people are watching the show, but I just finished the last episode of season 2 and had some thoughts.

Spoiler!

I haven't had time to watch it yet this year, I will be because I like the show.

Glad people are watching it, its unique and deserves support.
