Jarome in Calgary is something that would make me beyond happy. However it will not actually happen. But man I hope he plays for a contender.

I wonder if the KHL is an option.

I doubt he wants to go to Europe, and if he did, not to Russia.

^There is no way I see that being an option. I think his reason to want to continue playing is to have a shot at the cup.

I would love to see Iginla back with the new look flames.

I don't think his options are great. At best he's a cheap roster fill in for a team with spotty depth. Vegas might be interested. Arizona maybe. Florida might be a team looking to add another top nine winger.

But how many times does Flames management need to say that the ship has sailed for it to sink in?

I'm actually starting to look forward to Iggy retiring now. People need to move on.

Odd that you would like to see him out of the game. I watched him down the stretch for LA and I am thinking beyond his leadership skills this guy still has a lot to give a team for another year or two.

Would love to see Iggy on the Flames power play.

Are there any teams that are rumored to be interested come July 1st?

Flames are building a fast team. Iginla is a bad fit.

Additionally, the team already has strong leadership.

I experience zero nostalgia when it comes to Iginla. To me he's another washed up veteran player like Shane Down. I don't want him anywhere near this team. His time is over and it's time for Flames fans to move on.

Default Iginla Destination Discussion

IMO (purely unsubstantiated speculation) there are possible conflicts with either current team leadership (more likely) or management (less likely due to turnover) that helped drive the apparent massive wedge between Iginla and the team so quickly.
It really does appear that he moved on right away, and hasn't looked back since.. And there's nothing wrong with that.
The fan boy in me wanted him back for the first few years, but I'm firmly in the "that ship has sailed" category; unless of course he was the guy who called Treleving (ha). Basically, the team should not be courting him.. After what I consider a cold shoulder, he'd basically have to state a desire to be here and accept a depth role.

I really hope he signs with Calgary so the "ship has sailed" people can recall the ships to the port.

Iginla still has gas left in the tank. He has been written off so many times by many and hes still chugging along.

Hope he gets to jump on this Flames train again.

Iggy is not coming back here and I'm at peace with that. But I think a lot of people are going to be surprised just how much gas Iggy has left in the tank. He's going to prove some naysayers wrong this season and the next. Some teams small gamble is going to pay off.

Feel for Iggy, could you imagine if he stuck it with the Pens? Two rings already. Well, that's life.

Then to follow that up, he signs with Edmonton and the Flames win the cup!?

Agreed, Iginla is simply to slow for the Flames style of game.

Wonder if the Ducks style of a game would be a better fit.

I think the chance of him pulling a Favre and going to the oilers is a real possibility. The worst part won't be the greasy oilers fans rubbing it in our faces, the worst part will be the casual flames "fans" that start rooting for Edmonton to "get jarome a cup".
