For example, it's not too hard to convince someone that the petro dollar has been the primary influence of US foreign policy, but trying to break it down any further than that and you'll quickly find yourself branded as a conspiracy nut.
I think this is because you don't need the conspiracy for the actions to make sense. If everyone simply acts in self interest the outcomes are very likely to occur.

For example gas price fixing is not generally done. It's a bunch of people acting in self interest and a small number of people controlling the supply. Regular economics explain it.

The same is true with many of the world order conspiracies. They just aren't neccessary to explain the outcomes. The Iraq war wasn't started to make money geopolitics led to the Iraq war the companies jump in to make money. You don't need to start wars as they occur regularly given politics and human nature.

Conspiracy theories in general are a failure to apply Occam's razor or Hanlans razor.

You're talking about climate change deniers, right?

No. Really are there climate change deniers that are religious about it? Plenty of skeptics and those that fall into the politics of financial gains. I'm talking about climate change zealots that think that our dependance on fossil fuels is going to lead to the end of the planet. People that actually lose sleep over this and let it consume their lives. If anything destroys the planet it's going to be the fact that the human population is growing too fast (in 1920 only 2 billion vs 7.3 billion today) there is no precedent or clues to study for consequences due to the rapidness and and our ever increasing consumption of resources is effecting the ecosystem. Air pollution is really only a part of a larger problem.

The "Scholarly" articles give it way. If you were actually wanted peer reviewed sources it wouldn't be in quotes.

It's BC, they'll give her a medal, a pension and aim her at Kinder Morgan.

Was she so mad that Tim's ran out of TP that she wanted to prove a point? That was all kinds of effed up. How hard is it to grab those napkins and go back into the can to do the deed?

There's got to be a special charge of assault for that.

It’s because they wouldn’t give her the bathroom key.

Usually it’s because of drug addicts using the bathrooms to shoot up. I guess she proved that in addition to being a crazy drug addict, she also had to take a mad dump.

I love that Canoe.com just embeds Liveleak like it is no big deal. Most normal news sites would at least-re-encode it so they don't have a trail to that place...

I thought she might have just been upset to learn that they parboil the donuts and ship them in from somewhere else.

Scumbag gets caught in a cancer scheme that netted her $15,000

http://calgarysun.com/news/crime/it-...in-cancer-scam

Quote:
Calgary police have charged a Calgary woman with fraud after taking more than $15,000 from Good Samaritans in a cancer scam.

Earlier this month, police received an anonymous tip about an online group promoting a raffle to assist with healthcare costs of 30-year-old Krysta-Lyn William, who claimed to have cancer.

But after an investigation, police have determined the diagnosis and the raffle were both faked.

Police allege William used a GoFundMe page and a fake WestJet ticket raffle to con thousands of dollars “for healthcare costs related to a cancer diagnosis.”

A few years back a friend of mine got caught up by one of these cancer schemers

She did a fund raiser for Lana Raving, approached her bosses about giving her some art for the silent auction, she made arrangements for a facility for the fund raiser and they made 12,000 that they gave to Raving.

http://www.calgaryherald.com/news/ca...418/story.html

Rovang got 60 days of jail time and some probation.
