If only the Raiders didn't have a broke owner who could have just put AB inactive for the next three years and eat the money. And kudos to the Pats, you keep thinking they can't be more hated, and then they are.

It's like they had the contract prepared well in advance to get this done so quickly. You have to hand it to the Patriots as cheating or not I don't think it's luck that they are always in the right place at the right time. Hell with the Eskimos as the Patriots are the true Evil Empire. Hats off to them for continually outsmarting the league and the bonus at least for Raiders fans is that this really screws over Reid and the Chiefs.

Not if he cared for his own team or the fans of his own team. Having that much of your salary cap allocated to a player that is not even playing is a ridiculous move and a constant distraction to your own team.
My guess is Rosenhaus sometime between his apology to his team yesterday and late last night, got the Pats interested and when Brown realized he could go somewhere else like the Pats he pushed more Raiders buttons and asked for his release the way he did.
We will see if he rips apart the Pats. The stuff he's done and said and acted isn't just a malcontent that Belichek and Brady and Kraft can mute like they have others, it's a guy whose ego is 100x larger then anyone else's and he going to put himself above common sense and his teammates more often than not.
Or he could last less than a week on the Pats.
Raiders could've put him on a left the team list, and given Brown a 5 day letter to report. If he didn't show, Brown would've not been able to play for anyone this season.
Separating the Raiders from the equation as a general football fan, this just sucks. For organizations that fancied themselves as Super Bowl contenders and their fans, this just sucks. Maybe it's the tin foil hat but there's just something not right about how this all went down. Seems like a gift from heaven in what could be Brady's last season.

Yeah it is kind of funny because Belichek didn't know Andrew Luck had retired for a few days, but had a contract (and likely a complex one) written up for Brown in less than 6h? I certainly think there was stuff behind the scenes with the Pats in the last day or two.
And, how does this change the attitude of certain players when their contracts are up? You can be a terrible self entitled, selfish teammate all offseason and camp, with disregard, and you'll possibly get your way and still be rewarded. It won't work 9 times out of 10, but it will give players the guts to try it, again, the downfall being it being a distraction to the team and disrespect to the teammates and fan base.
Antonio Brown, Josh Gordon, Julian Edelman and Demaryius Thomas. That has to be the best group Brady has had in his career, no?
I would say so. Moss and Brown cancel out but Gordon can be elite. They can beat you a lot of ways now. Only hope is that Brady has his Peyton Manning moment when it just crashes down fast.

But Manning still won a super bowl that way. Calling it for the Pats then are you?

They have an underrated defense but that Broncos defense was a level higher. Still Brady will only have to be mediocre with all those weapons and lets not forget that Marken's brother Sony Michel will likely better in his 2nd season so it's going to be a nightmare preparing for everything they can throw at you.
As much as it sucks that he basically gets his way (although is losing money) its better for the Raiders that he was signed...he won't be filling a grievance now which he would have had there been no takers. His stupid internet posts celebrating his release wouldn't help either. It not like the Raiders are competing with the Pats for a super bowl...they cap space will be useful, especially when they hit Vegas the Raiders will be a top FA destination IMO.
It does bother me though, if someone called him the N word they would never work in football again yet he is going to the top team after all his insanity with basically no repercussions. Lets hope he gets pissed when he isn't getting the ball every other play.
