Default Living in LA. Tips for going to Kings game

So I am living in LA and I want to go a Kings vs Flames game, such as the one on November 5th. Should I go incognito or sport my colors? Am I asking for trouble?

You will have no problem in LA wearing Flames gear. There will be many, and Kings fans are chill.

You'll be fine. I went to a game in LA and didn't get a single negative thing said to me. They were all pretty fun to deal with.

Wear a Darryl Sutter '04 jersey. They'll love that.

I've been to many a game in LA, Anaheim and San Jose. Wore Flames gear to all 3 venues and never had any problems. Some friendly ribbing in San Jose was about the worst of it.

I found the worst ribbing was in LA for me (of the three CA venues). But it was mild at best.

"Flames suck buddy!"

Yeah, well we are rebuilding. What do you expect?

Has anyone ever actually had a really poor experience at any event wearing an opposing teams jersey?

Between me and some of my friends we have visited about 20 of the NHL rinks sporting both Oilers/Flames jerseys pending on the person and everyone agrees the only place where they have heard negative things is Edmonton/Calgary

I've had bad experience in Anaheim for baseball and hockey. Baseball was worse than hockey though. Weirdly, one of the best experiences I've had, was wearing Yankee colors in Fenway - although I did avoid South Boston on the advice of some locals

I've never had a negative experience here in Calgary at either a Flames game or a Stamps game. Some good natured ribbing but that's about the extent of it.

To be honest I've never really been a Flames fan, but this forum is my favorite. Worst experience I ever had was the playoff run in '08 in Calgary. Wore a Sharks jersey. Stood beside a cop and a guy from the 3rd level dumped a beer on me. Cop just stood there and laughed.

And this is coming from a guy who will wear an Oilers jersey to the saddledome without incident.

Had a couple of clowns trying to get a bite from me at a Bruins/Habs game in Boston, but most fans are pretty awesome.

I've been to 19 rinks myself, only venues I've ever had issues at was Vancouver and Edmonton, both in the early to mid 2000s. Did not hear a peep from Cansucks fans during the 2015 playoffs when I was there solo.

I was also in Philly in Nov of 2007, solo. The Flames won in OT after a blown call late in the 3rd in the Flames' favour (I think it was a Flyers goal that got called back IIRC), anyways I've never feared for my personal safety in a sporting venue, except that night. But the anger was all directed at the refs, nobody said anything to me.

Back on topic re: California, I loved the friendly ribbing in San Jose. Nobody bugged us in LA, and lots of Flames fans. Ducks fans are somewhat obnoxious but nothing that bothered me. OP you'll have a grand time at the Staples Center.

Other than the guy who told me he would throw me over the railing if I called McDavid a p#### one more time, I actually had a pretty good time wearing my Flames jersey in Edmonton. As long as you're not being a loud, obnoxious doosh you should be fine.

I've taken a beer can in the back of the head a few times at stamps games but that's in the drunk section so you kind of expect that.
