Looks like Rey is going nowhere and has apparently signed a new 3 year deal.

I would expect Dom to show up on NXT at some point.

Letter from Renee to the WWE after her departure. She really is kind of amazing.

Not going to lie, I hope she does some work on Hockey Night in Canada as part of a fresh panel approach. I liked when Strombo was there, and I think Renee Young can give a much needed shot of life into the discussion panels and interviews with players.

I bet she is going to ESPN or NBC though.

I'd love to see her do something hockey related. I have my doubts that she goes to AEW, she seems to be the type that wants to try something new. Though if it moves JR and the other members of their broadcast team to pasture I'd be all for it.

I first saw her when she did Aftermath on Sportsnet with Jimmy Corderos, and she was terrific and came across as a huge fan of wrestling.

She turned that into a long career with WWE and she broke all kinds of walls. I also met her once and she was nice and engaging.

Anyone else see that a fan had put up a picture of Chris Benoit on one of the screens. I think it would be tough to monitor all the screens, I'm amazed that we haven't seen a junk flash yet.

Apparently there was also someone dressed as KKK, a rape sign, a photo of Sonya's attempted kidnapper during her match with Mandy and people have talked about a beheading on reddit as well.

You want to know why WWE doesn't listen to the internet wrestling community, this is why.

It's not a huge deal compared to the others but I saw people breaking the "one person per camera" rule too. They were mostly kids though who would have never thought to read the rules.

Putting this here mostly because I know that Captain loves generic indy heel heat just as much as I do.

Due to a travel issue, this match for the Celtic Roots Championship became heel versus heel. Both heels are great at firing up the crowd (which was uncharacteristically quiet but mostly due to the outdoor venue).

For background, defending the title is Lincoln Steen:

And since his schedule opponent couldn't make it, Storm Wrestling Academy graduate Charlie Hubley got a championship opportunity:

and of course, the match complete with promo from Charlie:

If you like cheesy heels, you'll love every second of every video.

So I feel like AEW completely wasted months of character-building with Hangman last night. Just a baffling decision to turn him from IDGAF drunk cowboy to emo, drunk cowboy. Hopefully there's more to it than meets the eye but it looks like a massive misfire to me.

Thanks Maritime that's fun to watch, and I'll bet you if I went back and compared that second Hubley promo to the macho man interviews from the height of his WWE days, that Hubley imitated a Macho Man interview in terms of movement and added his own words which is brilliant.

Loved it.

Tony Khan is pretty much the head booker right now and it shows. He's writing the shows as if they were fan fiction and it leads to just baffling decisions and switches and a lack of understanding of a lot of key wrestling concepts.

The experienced wrestlers and the "booking committee" aren't helping things. either they don't want to jeopardize their executive pay checks, or they all agree with Khan which is a huge mistake.

The show is just really uneven to watch right now.

But I'm glad to see Conti working there, I've been a big fan of her work rate in the ring and the woman's division really needs it.

BTW if your ratings are sagging and your popularity is dropping, what's the best way to turn your product on its head.

Take your top recently returning face wrestler.
Have him come out and destroy your top heel, and also your "top" face over a championship.
Make sure its a sympathetic champion who has recently beaten cancer for the second time
And not only turn him heel, but put him with the best heel promo guy in the business

Spoiler!

I do except for the whole I can't stand Nia or how she works in the ring, but I'm a big fan of Shayna.

We just know that everyone is expecting Banks to turn on Bayley. I'd rather have Bayley go mega heel and destroy Banks.

That main event was terribly booked and meh execution wise, and I shouldn't have been surprised to see Reigns take the belt. As much as I love Heyman, I didn't want to see Roman as a right off the bat champion.

Oh and Strowman, Bray are done, they've had the rug pulled out from under them and poor Alexa is in who cares territory as far as the Fiend goes.

About the best thing that happened tonight was Orton making Lee.

BTW the Iconics vs Riot Squad in the pregame was a really fun little match.

Conspiracy theory time.

Brock Lesnar's contract with WWE has expired. WWE and Brock hit an impasse, and WWE basically has nothing for him to do, however its believed that if the WWE has something for him he'll sign.

WWE has also pulled Brock Merch from the WWE Shop.

With Tony being addicted to WWE cast offs, and the Casino Royale happening this Saturday, is it possible Kahn backs a dump truck of money and a AEW Title to his door so he shows up to win the battle royal?

AEW should offer him whatever he wants, and shuffle Ross off to the back office where his job will be to slap around Tony Kahn whenever he has a booking idea.
