Memories as a kid watching him on Quantum Leap, and then being pleasantly surprised to see him all those years later in the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica. Not too mention appearances in films like Lynch's Dune.
Terrific character actor. Being a child of the 80s, I'll mostly remember him from Quantum Leap of course. But the guy was in a ton of awesome films as well like To Live and Die in LA, Blue Velvet, The Player, Married to the Mob, and Paris, Texas, just to name a few.
Was terrific in everything he was in that I watched. Quantum Leap. The absolutely chilling villain in Battle Star Galactica. The Secretary of the Navy on Jag. He was great at chewing the scenary in Married with the Mob.
I would rank him up there as one of the great character actors that could be dropped into any role and become noticeable.

I didn’t know he was an artist as well. He designed the cover for Neil Young’s “American Bars ‘n’ Stars” and his photo of Wallace Berman is on the Sgt Pepper cover.
