Are the fees on Elec/Gas utility bills the same for every company? I had assumed that each fee would be the same and its just the /x amount that changed based on usage.

I just called and was told "we are not matching the offer this year. We will be coming out with our own offer in December."
Might depend on who answers your call I guess....

Also told me they won’t match but they’ll have their own credit in December. I’m guessing the promo will be for new customers.

I meant to ask a question a few days ago but couldn't find this thread. Has anyone else had any issues with paying Enmax bills recently online with a credit card? I have tried to pay my bill twice in the last ten days and both times it confirmed payment but the payment didn't actually go through.

Just paid my enmax bill. Got the confirmation and saw a charge go through my credit card. I've had no issues paying my bill.

I think if you didn’t get a credit last year they’ll give you one this year. Customers that want a second credit this year can just switch I guess.

I am looking for a new energy provider, and seeing things like "Market + $0.01 / kWh". Does anyone know where I can find out what the market value is? And what does EasyMax charge for their variable option?

After two calls to Enmax asking to at least match atco’s electricity rates, they wouldn’t. Time to switch and take advantage of atcos lower five year rate, admin fee’s and the promo.

Good to know, I won't bother waiting on hold. I tweeted them a week ago and they said to "wait and see" what their offer will be in December.
I might jump ship to Atco to get the Jan/Feb free usage. Can stay on variable rate and their NG admin costs is $0.10 less per GJ, so I won't be losing any money.

If you sign up for the five year electricity agreement then you also lock in your administration fees for five years. Enmax charges $7/month each for gas and electricity. Atco charges $5 for each. Was $3.50 last year though.

A rental condo of ours has been vacant for 2 months awaiting repairs as our tenant went to work with the stove on and a laundry basket on top of the stove...needless to say, not even close to being livable.... the electricity bill is way up the last 2 months which makes no sense to me. 600 sq ft condo paying $120 a month for electricity?
Perhaps those fans used to dry out the moisture from the sprinkler systems draw a ton of power?

This should be inclusive of the 1c/kWh. It changes on a monthly basis but has been almost always lower than the contract rates for years now.

Could be, $120/month in electricity is about 1200 kWh+-a few hundred. That's a continuous load of only about 1600 watts. I would get a power meter to confirm.

Just signed up with Atco for Electricity and Gas for the Jan/Feb promo. Went with 1 year variable. Paying 1 bill will be easier and if it works out I save some money that will be nice, will wait and see.
Atco said they will handle the Enmax and Direct Energy cancellations. Why do I feel like I'll still get bills and will end up on the phone?

Can you still switch between variable and fixed rates at anytime with Atco like you can with Enmax?
Looks like you can't and that is really the only difference between the two, besides lower admin fees?
