There's nothing wrong with the playoff format.
The exact same thing happens in other sports. Good teams miss out because not every division and conference can be equally balanced all the time.
I have no idea why people think this is unique to the cfl.

I agree, there should've been no cross over at all. Top 3 teams in each conference make the playoff.
It would've been very interesting this season since Hamilton came on strong toward the end of season, and them making the playoff and Riders out would drive all those Riders fans bonker.

Winnipeg Blue #Bombers GM Kyle Walters had strong words about the imbalanced playoff structure in the #CFL after his 12-6 team was bounced in the first round by another 12-6 team, while 10-8 Saskatchewan won at 8-9-1 Ottawa.

You crybabies lived in the East for decades. Finally field a respectable regular season team that still chokes in the playoffs.
Should I also mention your team was the worst of the four last Sunday. Maybe play better defence. In the WSF last year and this year.

Duron Carter @DC_CHILLIN_8 says his dream has always been to play in the NFL. If the situation is right, he'd be excited to explore an NFL opportunity on O or D.

Norm!

He'll likely get a look at a training camp and if he's willing to do that by signing with no guaranteed money it could happen, but he Riders might start the year down a few receivers.

The format is a joke and prevents me from really taking the league seriously. It is unfair and confusing. Yes other leagues have divisions but there is no reason why a 9 team league needs them.
Add a 10th team already, scrap the divisions to have a balanced schedule with a home and away game against everybody, and have the top 6 teams make the playoffs. It is so simple!
Anyways, Go Stamps Go! It's time for some Grey Cup redemption!

Thought he'd give the NFL another shot. He was their most consistent Defensive player. Guy is a beast and IMO the best DE in the league.

It's not unique to the CFL, but, in other sports/leagues, I don't think you see bad teams get rewarded and good teams get punished to the extent that you do in the CFL.
Imagine in the NFL you had one entire conference of teams finishing with records of .500 or worse. Wouldn't go over too well me thinks.

Confusing? You must have trouble with shoe laces then. Pretty easy format to follow.

Yes it is simple and hasn't changed in 20 years. Not sure there is a problem with it. Best 6 teams always have made the playoffs. Before crossover in early 80s, in 1981 Montreal made the playoffs with a 3 win team and ottawa made the grey cup with a 5 win team. Calgary and Sask missed the playoffs with a 6 and 9 win team.
Only issue is home field advantage in the playoffs but the format know isn't terrible.

The greatest sports league in the world doesn't even have playoffs. 38 games and the most points is the champion. How is that any more or less a "joke"?

That is a very good hire. It will be interesting to see if he brings in more of his own staff.
@TSNDaveNaylor:
According to CFL sources, Ticats and interim head coach June Jones are about to take the interim tag off, as early as next week. Did a remarkable job this season, his players love playing for him. #Ticats #CFL

Praise the lord!
@RandyAmbrosie on board with idea of moving the season up. "Imagine playing our Grey Cup..third week of October when it's beautiful everywhere and you don't have to wear 900 layers."
