I'm a newb, so probably a stupid question here...
Hypothetically, if I had 2 Pidgeotto, 1 with a 200CP and 1 with a 350CP, and I evolved BOTH of them, what would you guess the respective CPs of their Pidgeots would be after the evolve process?
I'm trying to decide if there's any point in upgrading the CP/HP of a lesser evolved pokemon, or if any/all candies should just be saved for evolving purposes, even if it means evolving a weak pokemon.

I typically use this:
http://pogotoolkit.com/
I wouldn't evolve a pidgeotto at all though. As you level up you will find Pidgeots and Pidgeottos with much higher CP. The only way I would evolve him is for the pokedex.

Level 40
4144 Mewtwo
3299 Mew
2602 Chrizard
2542 Blastoise
But really that would be amazing. Apparently someone out there already has Mewtwo but I don't believe them since I heard ultra-rare aren't even available yet?

Decisions....
Level 17. Didn't know about egg incubation until around level 10. I'm sitting on:
226 Snorlax 83% rating. 30 candies.
557 Porygon 79% rating. 10 candies.
32 Nidoking 55% rating. Lots and lots of candies.
Growlithe X 2, one 135 and the other 52. 26 total candies.
Are any of these worth powering up? I'm concerned that neither 10 porygon candies nor 30 snorlax candies will take either of these far enough.
Oh, also picked up 877 Magmar and 757 Aerodactyl today.

Just caught a 702 Tangela and took it to a local gym with a 1.1k Vaporeon. Tangela demolished it.

Nope I wouldn't. At level 17 you'll catch much stronger ones.
And remember evolving gives you much more CP than a power up.

Usually if you are the same team as the team that is currently holding the gym and you wanna be apart of that you will have to defeat all members to put yourself in there. It also helps to to level up the gym so that it's harder to defeat if you have more members. It's what I've noticed at least, it could be different for others.
I'm desperately searching for a Snorlax. He's one of my favorite pokemons and it seems like hes damn good to put into gyms besides a pretty High CP Lapras and Dragonite.

I went out with my son yesterday evening. We just missed out on Charizard but caught Dratini, Lapras and Snorlax all within the same hour or so. We were in disbelief. It seemed as soon as we caught the Dratini the Lapras appeared nearby and then the Snorlax. My son was over the moon.
I am Level 19;
Dratini 379
Lapras 914
Snorlax 1123

All south of Fish Creek. Dratini in Sundance, Lapras near Fish Creek C-Train station and the Snorlax in Evergreen. It all lined up perfectly, one after the other.

So only been playing for a week or so here, and just about to get to level 10. Will use the lucky egg soon to grab some of that sweet bonus XP.
Funny thing about the game though - there is almost no activity / pokestops down by my house, so I'm not really motivated to go out and move around. However, sitting at my desk as work I am in range of a pokestop and lots of pokemon show up in the park across the street. I'd say 80% of my progress comes from sitting in my chair at work.
