I can't imagine Toronto sports radio takes much time to discuss Calgary, and it's not like we just played/are scheduled to play the leafs in the near future.

Which makes it so weird to me that Pinder likes to bring this guy on Calgary radio on a fairly frequent basis. I'm guessing his gateway is to discuss the Raptors/Blue jays, but the discussion evolves to the Leafs (we don't really need any more Leafs insight do we) and then inevitably the Flames (where you can tell Bunkis hasn't watched the games but has read a few headlines and scoured twitter for the narrative he'll present)

Clearly this man is an expert on NHL players whose names he doesnt know and we should validate his opinions as such.

Completely disagreed with him when he came on yesterday...but was seriously the best afternoon radio (exceptional guests not withstanding) 10 minutes since Kerr left. I am so tired of the self affirmations of Pinder, Wills, Knault and Steinberg.
You may not agree with what he says...but for once it was 10 minutes of how the rest of the league still views us...refreshing.

One guy's obviously jaded and incredibly uninformed opinion about the Flames is somehow representative of "the rest of the League," how?
And why is this "refreshing"? I didn't hear this particular segment (it won't load on my computer or phone, for some reason), but I have heard JD Bunkis before. The word "refreshing" does not ever readily come to mind. More commonly for me it is "irritating," "incendiary," or "hilariously ignorant."

Yeah I heard it live too...F that guy. I get the buddying around chirps with a Flames fan friend of yours, but he seems to forget he's not at the pub with Pinder, but rather on Calgary local radio being listened to by thousands of Calgarians. That hit and his unprofessionalism in it made me so mad.
Pinder even tried to save him at one point by injecting and saying this is all somewhat tongue in cheek..but JD pretty much disagreed with that and kept it going. Enjoy your Leafs getting knocked out by the Bruins in the first round, AGAIN...blowhard loser.

Do you honestly believe that despite the excellent run Rittich has had over the last year, that anyone else outside of Calgary views him as a true number 1???
I love the player and love the potential...but sometimes getting an opinion outside of our Calgary echo chamber is refreshing. Much like last year with Gio it's also nice to see when that recognition changes outside of our own market..

Do you honestly believe Bunkis has watched 5 minutes of David Rittich this season and actually has enough insight to have any opinion as to whether he's a number 1?

I agree, but most often when the opinion is well informed. Bunkis's nonsense is not what I would consider to be a viable opinion, but rather one that easily, rightly ignored.
