I told my dad to watch this (he's South African) and he said the documentary brought him to tears. I've got it on the DVR - I may have to watch it with no one around!

The African 1995 world cup one makes it tough for me to wanna watch Invictus because it was so well done.
The LA Raiders one was really good as well.

Invictus actually gives a much better overall story of the events leading up to that game. I'd still strongly recommend you watch the movie. Very well done.

Not 30 for 30, but Magic and Bird on HBO was outstanding...and Broad Street bullies debuts Thursday on HBO, should be good as well.

I was (and still am) a very big NCAAB fan. "Guru of Go" brought back a lot of memories. Was an amazing watch for myself.

Anyone watching "June 17, 1994?"
What a crazy day. That must have been the D-Day for sports media.

Was watching it too Joborule. So far in my mind, that was the best one yet.
Really inspires some deep thought about society and what kind've values we have in the western world.

The Rugby World Cup 30 for 30 was simply amazing. Gave me goosebumps and even brought a tear to my eye.
As for the HBO docs, I thought Broad Street Bullies was decent enough but Magic and Bird was one of the best documentaries I've ever seen and also nearly brought me to tears. As someone who grew up as a huge Jordan fan I wasn't aware how epic the Bird/Magic rivalry was or that they were such heated rivals and such good friends at the same time.

Just caught 30 for 30's "The Two Escobars" last night (about Columbia's drug lord Pablo Escobar and Columbian defender Andres Escobar) and it may be the best sports documentary ever. Just amazingly well done. PVR and watch this if you get the chance.

It's odd, because I heard back when it happened that Andres was shot coming off the plane after the WC loss. This was a whole month after. The way the story was going I was thinking that he was going to be killed at the hands of Pablo, but it turns out it wasn't the case. Sad situation though, because it looks like Andres was a pretty stand up guy.

Andres was killed while the World Cup was still going on, a few days after he returned to Columbia. The game against the USA was June 22, he was murdered July 2.

bump, it's on right now!
very sad.
That Colombian team was so good, one of the favourites going into the tournament.
They were coming off a decent 1990 tournament and absolutely crushed Argentina in qualifying. But weird stuff was going on during the WC, the team was distracted.
