A very dissapointed Blue's GM took to the podium last night following a thrilling overtime win over the Islanders after making a flurry of trades yesterday.
"We're 7 points back and have to leapfrog teams with games in a hand, I'd rate our chances as next to zero". He stated "Now is not the time to cast blame" cough "Coaching" cough, "That's something that can be evaluated at the end of the year.
"When I was hired by the Blue's I wanted to aggressively go after a playoff spot, I've failed. So I decided that we're going to start aquiring some future assets and try to rebuild our prospect base".
The Blues traded veterans Josh Archibald, Jordan Staal, and Phillip Danault brinign back several prospects and second round draft pick. There are rumors that talks have happened over Tanner Pearson, Calvin De Haan, Tory Krug and MAF. However Crunch is looking for strong deals on those players.
Crunch has slowly rebuilt his draft pick pool with 7 picks in this years draft including the Pho first. He's also strengthened his prospect base both in the AHL and ECHL.
