any advice on getting last minute hotel for one night? thinking of staying in vegas on the way back from Disneyland Friday March 25th and going to knights game at noon on 26th.

Should we wait and call the morning of the 25th and see if there are deals on unsold rooms? 2 adults and 2 kids.

hotels on the strip right now for advance booking are $350+/night usd

Depends what your looking for it might get cheaper or sell out. Vegas is quite expensive these days unless you have status.

Maybe look off strip unless you really need the full Vegas experience.

Thanks, we do not have any of the resort status cards.

Yes, were looking at all options on and off strip. we are with the kids (15 & 12) and have our truck so driving to the strip and paying for day parking both Friday and saturday is a possibility.

You have some challenges there.

Friday night
Sweet 16 weekend
Spring break time

I wouldn't expect any deals coming unfortunately.

Vegas hotel prices can vary drastically depending on what's going on. A few year ago during the annual technology show/conference I was passing through and couldn't find a hotel room on the strip for less than $500 (mid January)

I haven't checked pricing for 2 years now. If by last minute you mean, I'm catching a flight this morning where can I get? Then yes. Day of, or night before bookings can lead to have good deals. However that is a real gamble.

I found that my best pricing was about 30-45 days out out from my trip. I would plan a date and book it. I would book it directly with the hotel, never through 3rd party sites. Then I would re-check weekly. Oh, look, a better deal? I think I'll book that and cancel my previous booking. In 2017 I cancelled and re-booked 5 or 6 times and wound up with a suite for the same price I was going to pay for a standard room on my very first booking.

Wow the pricing is bananas!! Weekends are always higher but Circus Circus is even pushing $300 a night for that weekend. Are you driving through Vegas both ways? If so, stop and get a Ceasers and/ or M Life rewards card on the way down, have your souse get one as well and use them to book a room for the way back.

We booked on monday last week and were in Vegas over the weekend. There is no cheap option like there used to be. We just accepted it for what it was as we wanted to travel so bad. We stayed at Park MGM - $350/ night

You will find that not only are the hotels higher so are the restaurants as well.

The knights game was fantastic outside of being a touch too loud (music and PA system)

Would highly recommend:

Restaurants
- Momofuku
- Best Friend

Show
- Absinthe

We’re heading down soon for a wedding and our anniversary is then too. Was there in January as well for a football game.

Biggest disappointment is the $15/$25 minimum table games now.

Do you have to pass through on the weekend? Vegas is still cheap on the strip during the week. Seems like a lot going on that weekend.

yes, its a last minute add on to disneyland trip. Saw the knights game at noon so were adding it.

Yes driving through both ways but not planning on stopping on the way down. driving direct calgary-Pocaterro ID then direct Pocaterro-Anaheim (2 days)

Trip home will be Anaheim-Vegas-Salt Lake-Calgary (3 days)

If still required going to book rapid test for the morning in vegas the day before getting home

Anyone have experience with claiming back withholdings for a small slot machine win in vegas? Won about $2500, and had 30% withheld. I have the 1042-S form, but details on the process to claim it back as a Canadian citizen are vague at best.

Lots of brokers will do it, but asking if anyone has done it themselves?

TIA

My wife and I go to Vegas for our anniversary every year with another couple who have their anniversary a couple days later. We haven’t gone since 2019 due to the pandemic and just booked our trip last night.

Staying at the new Resorts World spot. I love Vegas and can’t wait to get back. Last time I was there was in October 2019 when the Knights crushed the Flames 6-2. Hoping the Flames are still in the playoffs when we go mid June which means we are in the conference finals - Stanley cup finals

Man 15 dollar limits on the Strip is pretty brutal. Does that mean Freemont is up to 10 now? Looking at booking for early April but the flights/accommodations are not looking pretty.

Do the strip hotels still charge the ~$40/night resort fees?

Yes, if you don't have higher tier status with their reward programs.

Freemont is mostly $15 too from what I read. There are a few places with $5 and $10 apparently though.
