Arashi Madani did a great piece on Felix, who said last season he was putting too much emphasis on his ranking, versus rounding out his game -- the little things. You can only imagine what this boost of confidence will do for him.
What a proud moment! It's up there with Vasek sealing the deal for Canada getting into the World Group.

It was revealed in that piece by Arash that Felix quietly had a surgical procedure done to hopefully resolve his tachycardia that affected him at the US Open last summer.

Is this piece available somewhere? I haven’t seen anything written about the type/root cause of the tachycardia and would be interested to see if/how it was diagnosed

The piece is on the Sportsnet site, but they don't talk about his surgical procedure that he had during the off-season (that part seemed to make it only to the tv broadcast). I did a little searching around the web and came across the following however:
Felix had a cryoablation in the offseason to deal with the heart issue.
For those like me who don't know what that is, here's a description:
Cryoablation is a process that uses extreme cold to destroy tissue. Cryoablation is performed using hollow needles (cryoprobes) through which cooled, thermally conductive, fluids are circulated. Cryoprobes are positioned adjacent to the target in such a way that the freezing process will destroy the diseased tissue. Once the probes are in place, the attached cryogenic freezing unit removes heat from ("cools") the tip of the probe and by extension from the surrounding tissues.
Felix has known about this for some time, as he was forced to retire from a tourney a few years ago with the same elevated heart rhythm that hit him at the US Open last summer. Here's hoping the cryoablation did the trick.
The group stage of the Finals will comprise of six pools (A-F) of three teams, which will be drawn at 6pm on Thursday 14 February in Madrid.
The draw for the group stages will be carried out in three tiers based on the Davis Cup Nations Ranking of Monday 4 February. Nations ranked 1-6 will be drawn out first, followed by nations 7-12 and then 13-18
Canada just missed out on the 2nd tier but it might be a blessing if some stars don't show up in November. If I were one of the other countries, I would not want to draw Canada on indoor hard courts in a best-of-3 sets & best-of-3 match format.
Tier 1: France, Croatia, Argentina, Belgium, Great Britain, USA
Tier 2: Spain, Serbia, Australia, Italy, Germany, Kazakhstan
Tier 3: Canada, Japan, Colombia, Netherlands, Russia, Chile

Denis is in Montpellier, France this week playing both singles and doubles at the Open Sud de France tourney. He and partner Hugo Nys won their opening round doubles match and Shapo plays his first singles match on Thursday versus Marcel Granollers.
Edit: Granollers advanced to face Denis defeating Dr. Ivo Karlovic in three sets where all three went to tie-breakers.
Edit #2: Edited to correct when Shapo's singles match will take place.

Shapo breaks Granollers in the 10th game of the opening set t take it 6-4. Serving well today, return of serve a little shaky, but he played a great last game of the opening set.
Baghdatis just upset Pouille and with Goffin losing earlier in the week, Denis finds himself as the top seed remaining in the Open Sud de France tourney. He's got a tough match on Friday against PHH, though.
Denis is in a real fight with PH2 in Montpellier today. He appears to be really fighting his serve once again with the double faults racking up (5 through the first set thus far ). Hopefully he can settle himself down as there is no-one who is really standing in his way at this event.

That attempted drop shot at 4-4 in the second set tie-breaker only missed by a couple of feet. PHH played okay, but Denis handed him this match on a silver platter.
