if Arsenal lose this, they'll be closer to the relegation spots than the CL spots.

That goal is why I don't like how they assign own goals. Because that was on target it's Ødegaard's goal, but Lloris is obviously going to save it if Alderweireld doesn't deflect it.

good to see Mourinho punished for his negativity. Spurs have been incredibly passive all game, Arsenal deserve to lead.

I'm surprised they didn't take another look at Kane's elbow on Gabriel. Could have been red too.

Pathetic
Lamela only one who actually seemed to care, hope partey survives, was rolling around on the ground like hed been shot
Pathetic
Mourinho has the tactics right for 3 weeks, team needs to be attacking, looks at arsenals very average back 4 and treats it like it's the beckenbauer and cannavaro back there and we will never score, so play for the nil nil, dumb dumb dumb
Pathetic
Kane may have all rested if they were never gonna get him the ball in an attacking area
Pathetic

I'm going to Norquay this afternoon. I imagine if I stayed in, this would be stressful for me.

Solskjaer knows he's allowed to use subs, right? Completely idiotic to not make a single change all game. Team will be completely gassed towards the end of the season.
wasn't a pretty game, but it's a deserved win. West Ham did nothing.

Hi EPL fanatics.
I have slowly been getting more and more interested in Premier League football. I got a DAZN package for NFL but with the season over I have been watching more and more EPL.
I have one question that I don't really understand about top level football. What is the idea behind loaning a player.
For instance. I see a guy like Jesse Lingard on loan to West Ham from Man U. Lingard has been a huge addition to the West Ham side and West Ham is surprising everyone with their position right now.
What does a team, like Man U, gain from loaning a player? Does West Ham cover Lingard's salary? Do they pay Man U for his services? Wouldn't it be better for Man U to keep all their top players and not send them to an opponent who is not far from them in the standings? Or are they doing Lingard a favor because he was buried behind the depth of Man U's starting players?

Hey mate,
Great question, and love reading about new interest in footy.
Firstly, Lingard was expendable as he was playing poorly for United for the last 12 months or so. His placing in the pecking order amongst those who played his position, also meant he wouldn't see any playing time in the foreseeable future.
Pogba, Bruno, Rashford, Greenwood, Donny VDB, Mata, D. James, Amad, would all play ahead of him. Even with his recent performances, as a United fan, I still wouldn't start him starting ahead of any of the aforementioned. And in fairness to his 4 goals in 6 games, 2 of them should've been saved by the keeper.
As United exercised their option to extend Lingard's contract another year, for a July 2022 expiry, they did so with the hope of maximizing a sale on him -- in doing so they needed to loan him out, with the intent of increasing his value. Further, in the case of Lingard's loan, West Ham is paying his full wages. (this doesn't always occur though). If I were to spit-ball they may be able to get £15m for him this summer.
