Flames unveil new Adidas uniforms

I bought the $199 jersey yesterday. There is a fight strap.

Names and numbers look horrible.

I didn't get a player crested jersey (bought sight unseen so wasn't that trusting) but I will say this; design decisions aside, these jerseys are really nice!

I acquired a Tkachuk jersey and I absolutely love it. I feel like it's a huge improvement even with minor changes, And the Adidas template feels clean. The shoulder hole climalite technology is pretty neat as well.

Agreed. The odd thing for me, as much as I dislike the flags, they're a much better quality than on the Reebok. Actually embroidered this time. Nothing feels cheap. Now regretting not getting a numbered jersey.

I prefer the italicized names and numbers. Made the jersey feel more unique.

Seeing Christian beside fans wearing the old jerseys really shows how ugly the black piping up the front of the jersey to the shoulder looked. So bad. The new ones aren't great but they're a definite improvement

It's also possible that the new socks haven't arrived yet, or they're waiting to unveil them at the home opener.

At the game last night, I really didn't notice much difference watching the Flames from the stands, but I don't like the changes to the Oilers uniforms. I didn't like the darker shade of blue and they got rid of the white line between the blue and orange on the numbers, which makes them a little harder to read from a distance.

Also, the little air holes in the numbers make the numbers look faded because you can see a bit of the white jersey through them.




Another thing I noticed watching some of the highlights from last night, it doesn't seem like other teams lowered their logos on the front of the jersey as much as the Flames did. Still not a fan of that.

Got a chance to see the new jerseys and the quality isn't great. Shoddy fight strap and the elbows aren't double layered. They really shouldn't be trying to pass these off as authentic. Will likely wait till the Canadian ones start popping up, even if that's not till the end of season sale.

In addition to removing the piping they should have changed the bottom half of the sleeves from black to red.

That would have simplified the look and gotten me on board.

Honestly, even if this jersey is "semi-pro" this is the most impressed with any jersey I've seen that's not truly a gamewear jersey. The flags are not silkscreened and the flaming C is applied the same way the authentic jerseys are. I don't mind the extra 50 bucks because these jerseys are 1000x better than those crappy Reebok premiers.

They look like retro Jets jerseys on TV.

So what do I need to look for, in order that I know I have an authentic and not some "authentic"?
