Epanesa and Rosseau have shown flashes but yeah Elam and Basham were misses. Like most things Bills they were close to much better options (McDuffie for example was two picks before Elam) but couldn't get them.

At this point though Beane needs to go after the best available receiver or trade up for one to give Allen more firepower. Kincaid was a nice start last year.

As expected, the Eagles are letting go of their coordinators.

Hoping the Bears take another run at Sean Desai.

I think he went down for what was a poorly built defense, and changing to Patricia was a terrible decision

Yes and no. It was poorly built, but he didn't help matters by having guys like Reddick drop into coverage on obvious passing downs, lining up UDFA CBs on CeeDee Lamb, etc.

Well, if he was good with the Bears the first time, sure. He got a nice title in Seattle as assistant head coach and lasted a year. Didn't do much better with the Eagles.

Chicago also getting Waldron for OC? He was the patsy Seattle brought in because Wilson wanted and got Schottenheimer fired for not giving him as much control afew years back. Offense was fine under him and Wilson, but a lot of the credit for Geno Smith last year goes to QB coach Canales, who left after last year to go to Tampa and Baker saw the benefits of him this year.

Im torn on Waldron.

On one hand an experienced OC who worked alongside McVay and has had some success. As well provably one if the top names available and miles ahead of Getsy.

On the other hand it seems like there are lots of red flags popping up and his 3rd down conversion rates are unsettling

Default Raiders working to hire Tom Telesco as GM

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...tom-telesco-gm

I don't mind this hire. The knock in the Chargers over the years was "All the talent in the world, just can't put it together". The Raiders issues have largely been horrendous drafts and free agent acquisitions. What has ailed the Raiders over the years is what he's been pretty good at and the coach was hired for him so he can't screw that up.

My sources (read: the internet) are telling me the eagles staffers seem to be upset about Brian Johnson being canned from his OC role. There’s stories out there of Hurts maybe not being as beloved in the locker room as we all thought too, the Eagles are primed for a garbage offseason of turmoil and are just wasting time until they fire Sirianni at some point next season

Packers have, in fact, fired DC Joe Barry.

Some names being thrown around as a replacement include Ron Rivera, Jpm Leonard, Mike Vrabel and Al Harris.

Kind of surprised Vrabel may not get a HC gig this offseason. The problem with hiring him as your DC is that the HC could be hiring his successor although I don't see that as the case in Green Bay.

Joe Barry really kept that defence from flourishing. Was a terrible hire to begin with when you dig into his numbers and schemes.

He was hired off the back of the defence that Staley ran that got him a head coaching gig.

Costly hire as they had Rodgers in MVP form for 3 years and talent on D.

Yeah, I think the Packers have a real shot at the division title next year if they can hire DC who isn't trash. Barring something happen, I think they will (once again) have the best QB in the division.

Well now they can hire Staley to run their defense.

Why would anyone want Staley as a DC after his defenses were a complete disaster with the Chargers?

Dan Quinn when he was the head coach of the Falcons fielded terrible defenses. When he's just DC, his defenses are excellent. It could also be the case for Staley as some of these coordinators simply aren't cut out to be spread thin being a head coach and running a defense.

Glad to see they've learned nothing and are content with being on the cutting edge of defensive schemes circa 2017.
