Quality > Quantity.
And the system GG has in place provides none of it.
9 games to go.

I honestly think the posters that have been saying another coach won't get more out of these players aren't being intellectually honest, at this point.
They got caught up in playing the defensive side of this coaching staff for so long that as things got worse and worse and more obvious they didn't want to pivot and admit they may have been wrong, instead digging their heals in to their "side".

Season is over. Wish they were mathematically eliminated so they would bring up some prospects.

Road game. Don't think they'll be sitting down with him. They will show the GG presser though where he says we came out unprepared.

You're right, and it speaks to much more if we need a 2nd year player to have any guts in an important game. Hope he gets an A soon, he deserves it.

They really crapped the bed down the stretch.

Did Luobo just hint at the veterans on the team being a big problem behind the scenes?

They have mostly crapped the bed for 2 years. A couple of winning streaks were fun...the rest not so much.

Why anyone would want playoffs this year is beyond me. We need to fix the foundation before we can build the house
|
I think the foundation is ok. BT built a foundation for 100 store building but GG is only capable to built 85 store building on it.

Time to bring up the AHL team and let these millionaires watch from the press box. Let's see what we've got in our system as it may help with filling the 12 vacancies that we should have on this roster over the summer. Let's go full Vegas and rebuild all at once.

didnt watch this particular game but saw the "highlights". Anyone who thinks the Hamonic trade was a solid move, i dont see it. I realize players have bad games but it seems like a lot of his games are not that great... seems like a great guy but that doesnt win games. he isnt alone but this team needs draft picks not an underperforming d man.

This. I’ve been on the fence for a long time but the last stretch of games has me thinking it’s time for GG to go. The coach has to help manage momentum and GG fails at this. This year’s Flames constantly allow small mistakes to derail their entire game (as shown by their dismal home record) and bad goals against turn into multiple (last two games).
GG accurately assessed that the team crumbles when something goes wrong but hasn’t been able to fix it. If anything, it’s gotten worse. Time for a new approach.

The Calgary Flames have advanced to round two of the playoffs four times in the last thirty-two years.
