With the apparent injuries of Mike Smith and Tyler Parsons, Mason McDonald is back in Stockton. This leaves virtually no goalie depth for the Mavs if it carries into their weekend series.

I wonder if it's possible for Schneider to get bumped from the Hitmen to the Echl?

Mavs pick up center, Corey Durocher from Idaho in a future considerations deal. He has 2G, 6A’s in 19 games

Would be nice. The goalie they have down here has about 5 minutes of professional experience. Not too sure how that works though.

Mavs acquire another forward from the Utah Grizzlies. C.J Eick was the captain and had 1 goal and 1 assist on the year so far. He had 10G, 11A last season so looks like he is in a bit of a rut. Hopefully Kansas City can help him with that.

The ECHL announced yesterday that Garrett Klotz and Eric Freschi will be suspended for their actions in last weekend's Toledo game. Eric Freschi will be out for 2 games and Garrett Glotz will be out for 8. Klotz issued an official apology and the GM and head Coach expressed their discontents.

Klot cross checked a player and continued to cross check him 4/5 Times after he was down. Fans are furious and blame the Mavericks for signing him in the first place as he has done stuff like this before.

Mavs sign goalie Mavric Parks. He was on a loan to the Orlando Solar Bears but had not got a game in yet. The majority of this season was spent with the Birmingham Bears of the SPHL where he had 29 games played with a 3.12 GAA and a .916 save percentage.

Whew. Got through that without making any obvious Maverick puns.

Looks like goaltending may not be a huge concern this weekend now that they have more options. The Mavs take Adam Carlson temporarily as well. He is a Washington Capitals prospect but only has 11 games on the season. He is sitting at an .865 save percentage carried over 3 teams in 2017-18.

Mavric Parks gets the nod in goal tonight for the Mavs first Indy Fuel game of the weekend. They take a penalty in the first two minutes and shortly after it expires a brutal turnover in the neutral zone gives the Fuel the first mark on the board. Corey Durocher ties the game up for the Mavs in his debut just over 3/4 through the first period. Two fights breakout this period and the 2nd sends both contenders off early. Both were fueled by the Mavs laying checks along the boards and their opponent standing up and dropping the gloves as a result. The finish the period tied at 1 and trailing the Fuel by just 1 shot.

Greg Betzold gets the go ahead goal for the Mavs on their first power play of the night. It requires an extra look because the goalpost comes off but the decision is made in their favour.

Indy ties the game 35 seconds in to the 3rd. The Mavs go on a power play shortly after but it comes and goes. Mavs find themselves in a penalty kill scenario and Indy capitalizes on a shot off the crossbar that goes on a line into the net. The Mavs call a timeout with 2 mins to go and leave Parks at the bench for the extra attacker. Indy scores an empty netter with 5.6 seconds to go in the game and that seals it at 4-2 for the Fuel. Shots end 33-26 against the Mavs

Mavs fall to the Indy Fuel last night in a shootout. 4-3. KC's 3 goals came from John Schiavo, Jared VanWormer and Jordan Kwas. Adam Carlson was in net.

Mavs finish up their 3 game weekend against the league leading Florida Everblades. Adam Carlson gets the start for the 2nd night in a row. Eric Freschi plays in his first game back since his 2 game suspension. Mark Cooper finds the back of the net for the Mavs 11 seconds into their 2nd power play. Their 1-0 lead holds through the first 20 minutes.

John Schiavo scores a goal off the rebound about 3/4 of the way through the 2nd period. A heads up play and a quick release sealed that one beautifully. Florida finally answers back as they sneak one past Carlson on the wraparound. The period ends with Mavs leading in shots 17-15 and leading on the scoreboard 2-1.

The Everblades tie the game shortly into the 3rd on a shot that barely touches the shooter's stick but has just enough movement on it to crawl past the left pad of Carlson. Shortly after, Jared VanWormer is sent to the box for tripping. The Mavs energy visibly starts to deflate but they bounce back after the penalty expires. The Mavs get a power play of their own and let the Everblades get out on a rush. They stop that one and in attempt to clear it a player throws a puck at the net from the blue line and it bleakly slides in. 2 goals this period off of shots with no velocity behind them. Troy Donnay tries a shot that rings off the post that ended up being one of the best opportunities in that period. They go the rest of the time looking for an equalizer and get a power play with 37 seconds to go. With the empty net they had a 6 on 4 chance but do not get any shots on net. They fall 3-2, being swept in their 3 game weekend.

Mavs beat the Allen Americans last night 6-3. Alex Brooks has his 1st and 2nd goal of the season and top winger Matt Robertson was back from injury to enhance the forward depth. Sean Pauly also scores 2 including the game tying and winning goal. This is the first Mavericks win in 8 games. Their first victory since January 30th. Mavric Parks was in net and made 26 saves.

It was also announced a couple days ago that the Mavericks had released Nick Miglio. Unfortunate because he did fit well into this team but likely because they needed to clear up space for Matt Robertson. He only had 1 assist in his 11 games with the team.

The Mavericks get conclude their weekend series against the Allen Americans tonight. Mavric Parks gets the start once again. After the first whistle, Eric Freschi gets into a fight off the draw. Pretty even fight and him and his contender take a seat in the box for 7 minutes. The unsportsmanlike conduct added an extra 2 minutes to their time. Jared VanWormer squeezes the 1st goal past the Allen goalie at 13:00. With assists from Mark Cooper and Corey Durocher.

The 2nd seemed to play out at a slower pace than the first. Allen was visibly getting more scrappy but the Mavericks hold their composure and don't bite back. They get a heck of scoring chance when Matt Robertson comes in with a toe drag and his rebound is thrown at the net. Fans are still confused as to how it didn't go in. Seems as if it hit the goalies helmet or should pads so there was no ting of the crossbar. They finish up the period outshooting the Americans 22-11, still holding their 1-0 lead.

Mavericks lose their cool in the first half of the third and two fights happen simultaneously involving Mark Cooper and Kayle Doetzel. Cooper sits in the box and Doetzel leaves the rink with a 10 min game misconduct on top of his 5 minutes. The Mavs continue play and take a late penalty with about 6 minutes to go but they kill it off. They play the rest out and win it 1-0. Mavric Parks gets the shutout and VanWormer with the game winning goal. They sweep Allen but do it in a narrower fashion tonight.

Mavric Parks was named ECHL player of the week after his 2 wins including a shutout. His save percentage was a .941. He said after his shutout win he said, "It's definitely nice, it doesn't really matter. I'd rather just get those two points." He was set on giving the credit to the team and did not leave much for himself. Very classy and humble guy.

The Mavs played last night against the Rapid City Rush and fell 2-1. Captain, Tyer Elbrecht got the only Mavs goal and it happened to be his first of the season. Mavric Parks got his 3rd consecutive start in net and stopped 22/24 shots.

Mavs sweep the Fort Wayne Comets this weekend. They beat them 3-2 on Friday and 4-3 on Saturday. Adam Carlson was in net both nights. 3: Cincinnati Cyclones - 68 pts

Tyler Parsons is back in KC but did not get the start in yesterday's 8-0 win against the Toledo Walleye. The Mavericks are pretty confident in Adam Carlson as of now and my guess is that Parsons still isn't at 100% health wise.

They announced today with Nick Schneider being sent down to Stockton that Mason McDonald will return to Kansas City. They play tomorrow night so it will be interesting to see who gets the nod.

The Mavericks face off against the Wichita Thunder tonight. Adam Carlson gets the start. Energetic start by the Mavs as they pepper the Wichita goalie with shots. Through the first half Carlson only sees 1 shot on net. At the other side of the rink the Mavs register 7 shots through 10 mins. They are rewarded a power play and only register 1 shot. Mavs get tested on the PK after Shawn Pauly is dealt a tripping call and the kill it with ease. Not allowing Wichita to register a single shot in their man advantage. The 1st ends without a goal and shots 11-6 favouring KC.

In the 2nd, Bryce Aneloski gets one of the best chances of the game as he rips a slap shot from the blue line but it rings off the post. The Thunder get their own chance off a post and the Mavs follow up with a shot off the post that they hack away at but don't find the back of the net. They go on their 2nd penalty kill and make it much harder for themselves when they take a delay of game penalty just seconds later. Both penalties are killed off and the score stays at an even 0. They go on a power play and Bryce Aneloski tries another hard shot from the blue line that Jared VanWormer chips in off the rebound. VanWormer was buzzing all game and has been the most consistent Mav down the stretch for the playoff race. He has really stepped up and almost found his 2nd goal just a couple minutes after his first. In the last minute he breaks off into a partial breakaway and is denied blocker side. Shots end 32-13 after 2 periods of play.

18 seconds into the 3rd the Thunder tie the game up when they catch the Mavs on a slow start and a lazy play. Shawn Pauly takes another penalty and the Mavs find themselves on the penalty kill with momentum already shifting away from them at an alarming rate. They kill off the penalty and fresh out of the box Shawn Pauly scores! The Mavs regain a one goal lead just under 5 minutes into the third period. Mark Cooper pulls the Mavs ahead by another goal as he fires a shot through the pads of the Thunder goalie. Jordan Kwas gets a close attempt at the empty netter late in the game and just narrowly misses it. The Mavs hold the score right to the end 3-1 and shots end 44-21.

The Mavericks fall against the Allen Americans last night by a score of 3-2. It was announced earlier in the week that Adam Carlson was sent back to his Washington Capitals affiliate team leaving the Mavericks with one less goalie choice but still 3 on hand. Tyler Parsons got the start and stopped 22/25 shots. They had a rough start allowing 2 goals in the first 5 minutes and allowing another in the second period before they answer back for one of their own. They try for the comeback in the third and get 1 but can’t find another. Mavericks goals came from Shawn Pauly and C.J Eick. They outshot the Americans 36-25.

KC Mavericks @kc_mavericks
Mavericks sign forward Logan DeNoble out of @PetesOHLhockey. DeNoble captained the Petes this season and tallied 52 points in 59 games.

stats: http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=245294

Hard to tell if this purely a KC move or if the Flames had any influence.
