Default Would it be wise for the Flames to offer Jagr a coaching role.

I just read this article, also remembering that Jagr mentioned this is most likely his last year, should the Flames approach him at some point for a coaching role?

He'll be back overseas the second this (hopefully long) season is over.

He owns his own team in Czechia. Why would he stay in North America? He'd have job security back home.

Not until the Flames can find an NHL right winger who is better than Jaromir Jagr

Jagr says this was 99.9% he last season only because he doesn’t think another nhl contract will be there for him. Personally I think if he has a pretty great year I could see the Flames bringing him back. I just feel he saw the writing on the wall not getting a legit offer until camp was over. If he has another strong year and gets credit for the Flames taking a step I believe he could play another year in the league.

Couldn't hurt the team to at least explore the idea.

Some people on this board really do have sticks up their arses judging by their snarky remarks. What the harm in discussing It? Jagr hasn't made any recent statements, at least none that I've seen, regarding his retirement plans.

Jagr strikes me as the type of guy who, when finished with the on-ice part of the game, is done for good.

Maybe he can negotiate a new arena deal with the city.

Jagr's plan is to finish out his career playing for Kladno. Calgary is a mere pit stop.

He already kind of is. He's like a player coach.

Let's see how this season goes before talking about re-signing Jagr for next season.

As for a coaching job, I doubt he would accept but there's no harm in making an offer.
