Ya, what are they thinking... I think there would have been a decent draw on network tv, but ppv?? The response has been pretty one sided against it and wouldnt be surprised if both vow to give some or all winnings to charity in hopes to win over audience.

Less than zero interest in forking out PPV money to see which player will win the sponsor's money.
Unfortunately there was no way they were going to put their own money up for this. I mean who would get the tv, sponsorship, money etc. unless they added on top of it. Then we'd be talking about a $25 million payout I imagine.

I'll have to wait and see what the format is and how much it costs. I think I've rented one ppv event in my entire life, so this would have to be pretty spectacular to get me to spend money. I'd say I won't spend more than $25 to rent it.

I bet this ends up being a major miscalculation on their part to PPV it. It's the kind of thing that's neat enough that millions would tune into a network. But I don't see millions actually paying a decent amount of money at this point in their careers.

I won't be forking out any money for this. I'm betting this whole PPV thing backfires as they find people aren't willing to pay to watch something that only benefits the players and the sponsors. It would be like watching a friendly practice round between 2 players.

Since the bogey on five, Brooke Henderson has converted back to back birdies to take a two shot lead at the Canadian Open over six golfers at 10 under

Brooke Henderson is the clubhouse leader after Round 3 at the Canadian Open.
On Sunday, Henderson will try to become the first Canadian to capture the national title since 1973.

Brooke is so awesome.
I love that Lori Kane was in the field this year as well. She carried the torch for so many years. It would be great if she was there and Brooke won.

I wonder if the thread starter or a mod could fix Brooke's name in the thread title. It's finally bugged me enough to say something.

Brooke is up by 3 with 10 to play.
Tee times moved up due to bad weather coming in.
It's on TSN 1.
Note the golf channel frequent description that the tournament is being played in Sas-kat-chewan

Brooke birdies 12 to extend lead to 3. Good birdie after lengthy delay with the group in front. Player claims she felt a double hit from the rough, even though TV replays show no evidence of double hit.
A tonne of money for charity raised as well.
Typical TSN golf coverage. 3 shots then 5 minutes of commercials. Fricken brutal

Brooke dialing it in. 2 tap in birdies in the last 2 holes.
Maintains her 3 shot lead.
Players now under the umbrellas.

Hits it to about 10 feet on the par 3 15.
The player in 2nd has made 3 birdies in a row. They are in the same group. Yin made a long one. She is now at 17 under, 3 shots up on 3rd place. Pressure on Brooke. Brooke stands in and hits her birdie into the middle of the cup.
Stone cold killer.
Maintains her 3 shot lead. 3 holes to play.
Drive on 16 bounces through fairway into the rough. Yin, the player in 2nd hits it well into the rough.

And she does it.
Finishes off with another tap in birdie on 18.
Champagne from her family and other tour players. Alena Sharpe and Lori Kane on the green to cheer her on. Another tour player I didn't recognize as well
Such an awesome athlete.

Don’t even know the kid but very proud of her. A Canadian winning one of our Major Tournaments in any sport is so rare. May have even shed a tear or two.

Has a one shot lead going into the final round to try to be the first Canadian to win the Canadian Open since 1973. And shoots 7 under to accomplish the feat. Amazing performance.

I must say, the family celebration for Brooke's win was special. That, plus the bond she has with her sister, it was tough not to get a little misty-eyed today.
Also, a special shoutout to Alena Sharp and the Humboldt Broncos bag she had throughout the tournament.
