The game is actually on Sunday, just a heads up. Bus leaves 90 minutes before kickoff. So 12:30 for Sunday. The only other time we had a bus on a Sunday it was not full, so you should be okay.

I'll give the club credit - even if they make some interesting decisions (pricing, floodlight(s), the great atmosphere crackdown/misunderstanding, etc.), they do seem to learn from their mistakes.

It doesn't take any business acumen at all to spot the attendance to pricing correlation, so I honestly don't think that anyone at Spruce Meadows is shrugging their shoulders about it. I have generally put this gripe to rest for the season, and I am optimistic that some tweaks in pricing will result in better crowds for next year. There is no doubt that there is a buzz around the team, and people are willing to come out and support it - at a certain price.

They are Catapults, which are used to track athlete's data.

One other point into reaching the stadium, is that with the completion of the ring road, commute times will be substantially reduced for those furthest away. (NW/N)

Fall 2021. So next season without it and then suddenly spruce meadows becomes a lot more accessible for the northern SW and NW residents.

Southwest leg in 2021, and the West leg in 2022.

The SW leg will allow Tuscanites like myself to bypass the Glenmore causeway, and whatever combination of Macleod, 14th, etc. that is the lesser evil on the day. I would still have to use Sarcee to get to that point, however. The West leg will allow me to bypass Sarcee as well.

The SW leg being complete will also mean that the direct access via Spruce Meadows Trail will be much improved as well.

A fair bit of relief in 2021, and then smooth sailing in 2022. Just pulling numbers out of the air, but I'd guess that a fully complete ring road will shave it down to a 25 minute drive on a good day.

It is Calgary / Alberta government construction afterall, should we add the usual 12 - 18 months delay to the expected open dates?

Email blast just went out to season ticket holders for the October 5 game. Some good stuff in there:
- Cavs players will be giving their game worn jerseys to random season ticket holders.
- Season ticket holders can buy 4 additional tickets to the Oct 5 game against Forge for $15 each.
- Specially priced merch?
- Tickets to the CPL Championship are on sale first to season ticket holders from September 23-25.

CPL Championship dates are currently October 26 and November 2. Important to note that the Ti-Cats have a game at Tim Horton's Field on November 2. So we may end up with the second leg at home anyways...

All of this sounds awesome! Not super keen on November 2nd in Calgary and it's laughable planning IMO, but it's a good excuse for some whisky.

What was the league's rationale for ending a soccer season in winter in Canada? I mean there's a slight possibility the championship games could be like +5 and passable for casual fans and families with kids, but it's much more likely that it's between 0 and -15 and not digestible for anyone but a couple hundred hardcore supporters.

The rationale is that we have a northern climate where even getting 6 months outside is risking poor weather. So if we want anything resembling a full season we risk opening the season in snowy conditions, and we risk ending the season in snowy conditions.

On the first day of the season it snowed 13 cm. Cavalry's opening game it snowed 5 cm. October 2 last year it snowed 33 cm.

I say stop being little bitches and sing in the snow.

Did I scare everyone off with my "stop being little bitches" comment?

Good article on Zator's season, including the national team shouts he's been getting. Written by a certain fantastic writer on this board!

Quote:
With goalkeeper Marco Carducci recently making Canadian Premier League history by becoming the first player called up to Canada’s national team, many pundits have picked Zator as a prime candidate to be next in line. While the defender says he’s flattered by the acknowledgment, he’s not getting ahead of himself.

“There are so many players on our team that have been doing well,” he stated. “I feel there are a lot of players who deserve that call-up.

“For myself, I have read some of those comments, and it’s nice to hear that people believe I deserve a chance to be there. For me, it’s about focusing on what I can do to help our team out. If I ever get that call, I’ll be super fortunate, and I’ll be honoured to play. It’s one step at a time.”

If I didn't scare you off with a million "ZOMG attendance!!!" posts and you didn't scare me off with a bunch of "enough with ****ing attendance" posts then I think we'll make it through this!
