Hope Norwich spend the money, because half their midfield from the championship team of the season are gone in Buendia and Skipp, I think Aarons gets poached too

Well apparently it's a done deal and Paulo Fonseca is the new manager for Spurs. That's right...we sacked Jose and this is the guy who was shown the door at Roma for Mourinho to get his next job. Honestly, unbelievable.

It's a complete joke. I wasn't super pumped by the idea of Potter, but this is a million times worse. He guided that squad to 7th in Serie A. What in the world are these idiots doing? I'm sure that Kane will be thrilled with this appointment. I mean the club already looks like a laughing stock when they can't match the ambitions of Conte, but this is a new low....and only a week later.

Yeah going from potentially getting Conte to this is a kick in the pants.

Fonseca did some good things at Shaktar getting them into the round of 16, coming out of a tough group, but his Serie A performances havent' been great even if Roma is a bit of a rebuilding side the last couple years.

Really though he's not close to the same level as Conte.

Roma were an ownership and injury mess last few years from what I've gathered

Seems to be clear Paratici is guiding this decision, because its not a Levy one

Marcus Thuram sounds like it's close, lock him and Anderson up would be some nice early business

I mean a week ago Spurs were on the cusp of hiring one of the best managers in the world, and now they hired a guy who is best known for showing up at a presser in a Zorro mask. Pretty understandable why fans are so pissed. It could always work out, you never know, but in the moment it's pretty insulting.

While there's obviously truth to that, it doesn't quite describe the whole picture. We had 7 weeks of dithering and hearing names like Poch or Conte to end up with Fonseca...it's pretty obvious that Spurs fans are going to have a hard time getting excited here.

So...Fonseca's main influence is Jesus?

Thats one way to go I suppose. Not exactly a world-renowned footballer, but the water into wine trick could come in handy when they play against Big Sam.

Sancho to United is slowly taking shape. Gap in valuation is less than £10m, according to The Athletic. Sense is the deal is getting done.

Lol, things with Spurs are honestly unbelievable at this point. The deal with Fonseca is apparently off due to some tax advantages he had in Italy that he wouldn't in the UK. so, we're back to square one. What a circus.

Gattuso for Spurs now lol. He only quit at Fiorentina yesterday after 22 days because of disagreements regarding their transfer plans. What a circus indeed.

It sounds like Gattuso was favoured by Paratici when he was at Juve. Paratici was trying to get Gattuso to Juve this summer before leaving and taking the Spurs job.

Gattuso was not available to Spurs (for whatever reason) and so they moved to Fonseca. Then Gattuso left Fiorentina putting him on the table.

What a cluster####

according to Stone (BBC) they pretty much just prefered Gattuso, so when he became available they pulled the plug on Fonseca.

Ya gold said the same, athletic too

I just dont get it for gattuso, his record isnt great, he has some questionable views hes public about, and joe jordon should still knock him out over that handbags on the sideline in the champions league something like 10 years ago

Mendes now got a foothold into Spurs. Expect a few of his players incoming over the summer.
