League should suspend him 20 games .

That may be the most bush league beaning in MLB history

It's uncalled for and unprofessional. Blame the umps for not throwing the guy out as he was barking at Acuna for no reason after he's in agony. Sometimes baseball is just stupid.

From what I read he wasn't tossed after he hit him and the benches cleared. But things sparked up before he had a chance to throw the second pitch, as Acuna tossed his shin guard towards the mound.

Jose Ureña suspended six games for hitting Acuña. So, basically one start, and not necessarily even one start if they just push back his turn back a couple of days. What a ####ing joke

Should have been at least 15 games, probably 20

This was the most non sensical beaning I’ve ever seen.

It's ridiculous that MLB hasn't put a rule in place where starting pitcher's suspensions are based on their scheduled starts.

Surprised to not see any love for the Rangers insane triple play last night. First time in 106 years that there was a triple play and the batter was not one of the outs!

I guess the problem with that is if a starting pitcher is suspended for 5 starts, he is actually not getting paid for 25 games, which is a harsher penalty than other 5 game suspensions?

also i don't see how you can suspend someone for starts, they'll just pull a tampa and have the reliever start for a batter.

nevermind.... i got it backwards.

Just over two weeks since the Mets lost a game 25-4, they go out and win one 24-4... Then, they lose the second half of the double-header 9-6.

Not sure the announcers explained it properly. Once the 3rd baseman short-hops it and steps on 3rd. Can the guy at 3rd (Ward) stay on that base or does he have to go home?

After Profar stepped on the bag the runner was no longer obligated to go home due to a force play.

The runner from first was still obligated to go to second. So Calhoun was being lazy and hence why the Angels even with Trout are still no good.

I accidentally did something like this in slowpitch playing third years ago. Had a sharp hit ball right at the bag with the bases loaded. I tagged the runner at third first, than stepped on the bag and threw to first....of course the player umps from the previous game had no clue, and only ruled the person at first out.

I once had another play in fastpitch soft ball where I dropped a hard hit line drive with the bases loaded. Turned out to be a good idea because with the runners frozen and the batter pretty much stopping...it was an easy triple play made by accident.

So the A''s are on a 2001 like run here. Since about mid June they have been sizzling. Now tied with Houston for first in the West.

In his first 132 career games, Jacob deGrom has allowed zero or one run 60x, most of any pitcher to start a career since 1913. (Kershaw is second with 56 games.)

deGrom's streak of 22 straight starts of three runs or fewer is also tied for fifth-longest in a season since 1950.

It’s sad he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves by the national media due to the team he pitches for.

Baltimore has already been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.

The record for the team who finished the season the furthest out of first were the 1909 Boston Braves.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1909_Boston_Doves_season

45-108, 65.5 games behind Pittsburgh.

This year's Orioles have a shot.
