Jankowski Next contract
With Jankowski being an RFA what will his next contract look like?

Something like Bennett’s first renewal I think.

Something close to Ferland and Bennett.
3 years, $1.85 million cap hit is my guess.

Between $1.5 and $2 would be about right. If they can get him at that price for 3 years I’d be all over it (though I’m unsure of when he turns UFA, if 3 years brings him to UFA then maybe go for 2 years).

Extremely unlikely he'd go 3-years with such a low cap hit.

For reference, here's the thread on this topic I started earlier in the year:
https://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=166195
It should be noted that I pro-rated his stats for the year at 0.39 points per game, and he dropped down to 0.35 points per game by the end of the year.

I tried to search for a thread about this but did not find it. Must have not looked hard enough.

Last thread, I said 3 years at no more than $1.85M AAV. Probably closer to $1.5M AAV, or maybe a little lower even. I'll stick with that.

it's unfortunate Treliving is unable to score any Jarnkrok type contracts.

Including his last game? That one skewed his stats a fair bit.

I think term is more important than the dollar value. Get him locked up.

He hasn't earned anything more than a 2 or 3yr @ ~1.5M contract, at this point. Both of Bennett & Ferland had better resumes last summer, and signed 2yr deals @ $1.95M and $1.75M.
I'm going to guess...
2yr @ $1.35M
or
3yr @ $1.65M

2 years at $1.5 AAV

2 @ $2 is my guess. Can't see him getting less than Bennett at this point.

Seriously?
I personally think that Jankowski's ceiling is pretty high, but he scored 25 points this year, which is less than Bennett has scored in each of his three campaigns.
Realistically, I don't see how Jankowski gets a contract @ $2.0 m.
