are there any worth while value signings ($1M or less) to be had RHS D?
Jan Rutta?
At least one forward to replace Reider/Jankowski, with the other spot coming from Stockton
Lucas Wallmark stands out. Good PKer, good faceoffs when with the Canes

Kovalchuk would be a great affordable add, and if we do part ways with Doc, Brad Richardson or Brian Boyle would fit into that 4C slot like a glove IMO.

Out of that list I think the cheap guys that intrigue me the most are Rutta and Prout... maybe Weber

Hauls would be an outstanding addition, great two way game and excellent in the faceoff circle. If we could deal Ryan is be all for seeing Haula brought in.

Riley Sheahan would be a good addition to for the PK to replace Reider or Janko. Top PKer on the 2nd best PK team last season

I had the same thoughts. But I just can't get comfortable with an idea of liking Perry... even he plays for Calgary,

When you think that he was Tkachuks favourite player growing up it softens the blow for sure. I agree it would be strange cheering for Perry but I got over my dislikes for Bertuzzi and feel like I’d do the same if Perry were to join the Flames.

Yeah, I know. Perry with Bennett and Tkachuk would be a line most of the league would not want to play against. Still... I remember a friend saying "better him playing for us than against us" when Brian Marchment signed here, but that didn't make me cheer for Marchment.

I think it's really interesting to look at who scored the majority of the key goals in Dallas's road to the Stanley cup...you need some guys that can be scary up and down the wing to get you into the dance...and you need a few that can get in front of the net and be relentless on tips and rebounds.
The regular season and playoffs are two different games...you need players that specialize in each to win the cup...

I always disliked Perry but to have him on the Flames is exactly what we need. He's mean, a slightly dirty player, always in your face, isn't afraid to stand in front of the net and scores garbage goals. I could very easily get over my dislike.
