More NHL Talent & Prospects from Southern Alberta than ever?
We've had Mason Raymonds and Mike Greens before but it feels like right now our high end talent is off the charts:
Brayden Point is one of the best young centres in the NHL. A two-way player with ridiculous wheels, overflowing with hockey sense
Taylor Hall is the reigning MVP of the NHL
Cale Makar just won the NCAA Hobey Baker award at a younger age than Gaudreau did.
Matt Dumba was having a killer year before...his...season ended
Jake Bean is a top defensive prospect
Jacob Bernard-Docker was selected 26th OA by Ottawa and had a respectable first year in the NCAA
Dillon Dube is an exciting prospect who our management have suggested has top 6 upside.
Also to a lesser extent:
Luke Philp was the best player in Usports this year
Matthew Phillips tore up the WHL and had a solid rookie pro season. He will probably get better in his second year pro as Eatbread did.

The Edge pumps out a lot of good hockey players.
Path is typically Edge -> Brooks -> NCAA

Dumba was born in Regina, but played minor hockey in Calgary.
Dube is from Cochrane, played in Airdrie then went to Notre Dame in Sask.

I was nitpicking the title "from Southern Alberta" and Dube is from Golden B.C
It's like saying Al MacInnis is from Regina Saskatchewan or Kitchener Ontario because he played his minor/junior hockey there but ask chopper where he's from he'll proudly say Cape Breton, N.S

Dylan Holloway is from Bragg Creek. He tore up the AJHL as a 17 yr old this year. He was going to do the same in his 16 yr old season until he hurt.
Wisconsin has an exceptional recruit on their hands. He misses the 2019 draft by one week so not eligible until 2020.

Jaret Anderson-Dolan is from Calgary and will likely be on the LA Kings roster full-time in 2019/20. Started this season in LA as a just turned 19 year old and played 5 NHL games before going back to Spokane and then representing Canada at the WJC.

Yes. Played his minor hockey in Lethbridge. Maybe that's why he thinks he is from Southern Alberta?

While Port Hawkesbury is next to Port Hastings which is literally across the Canso Causeway... Al MacInnis is from Port Hood

Austin Wagner of the Kings was born and raised in Calgary. You might remember him from when E. Karlsson welcomed him into the league with a head hit this year and got suspended.

Thats right. Austin is quite likely the fastest player in the NHL, even quicker than McDavid. He lacks finish and scoring touch however. He gets many breakaways due to his speed but more often than not does not score, this was evident going back to his WHL days with the Pats and contributed to him being a 4th round draft pick. If he had that scoring touch combined with his speed, oh boy...

Cayde Augustine was born in Airdrie.
He is another Edge alumni that is currently playing for the Kelowna Rockets.
There are at least 3 NHL teams taking a hard look at him for next season's draft.

Josh Morrissey is progressing nicely for the Jets.
William Nylander has had a couple of 60+ point seasons.
If Taylor Hall is young, then so are these guys.
Taro Hirose had 7 points in his first 10 NHL games.
Maxime Lajoie had a good rookie season.
