.There were Liberal governments in Quebec, Ontario and across the Atlantic provinces. Albertans had chucked out the Tories for the first time in forever. New Democrats had been running Manitoba for 15 years, and Liberals had been in power in British Columbia almost as long — though B.C. Liberals aren’t quite like the ones you’d find elsewhere.
A little over three years later and it’s all gone. Ousted in Quebec, decimated in Ontario. Of 708 seats in 10 provincial legislatures, Liberals hold just 173, less than one-quarter. The three remaining premiers are huddled together on the eastern coast, where their number could soon be reduced to one after upcoming elections in Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island. Of 37 million Canadians, just 1.6 million are in provinces governed by the Liberals.

Oh no! Iceland! Not even the Leonardo DiCaprio of countries. Please don't tell me that the 300k people of Iceland have fallen for the BS spewn by American interests, too. What are you more proud of, Iceland? That you're gullible, or that you have no idea about Alberta politics?
Quote:
Is that the UCP's fault or the NDP and media for painting a false picture of a the party?

At least Notley can always say her campaign won Icleand's vote.

Don't look at anything with a critical eye if it supports your narrative.

So why should we care about an apparently terribly uneducated countries media opinion?
Quote:
lol, like we'd care what a bunch of bank fraudsters think of us.

So if Canada’s media can’t get it even remotely close I have no faith in Iceland’s.

It Is kind of odd that they would follow a foreign country’s provincial election.

I bet 99.9 percent of people of Iceland have no clue Where Alberta is or that it even exists.

Who cares what Iceland thinks?
Here you go. These read as incredibly salty, hypocritical or assuming posts since the Iceland discussion began.
I, for one, am interested in hearing how the rest of the world views us. It's important to understand this, so that we may work with the rest of the world to change that viewpoint if it's wrong - not be hostile and arrogant in response.
Politics have just been such a refreshing pleasure over the last 5 years.
Havent they though?
The producers of hit TV like 'Survivor' or 'Big Brother' or the 'Apprentice' have probably been wondering how they could bottle and sell the sentiments of the past few years.

Good lord, the salt some have of Iceland's coverage of the Alberta election is real. Some damn interesting assumptions going on in this convo.
Weird, are you saying it's never a good idea to make salty assumptions on a whole group of people based on a bunch of lies, a few half truths and hyperbolic statements?
If you think it's bad on CP, just imagine if we were a major news outlet.

If you're referring to our new governing party, I'm curious to know which lies and half truths specifically you are referring to. There's a lot to go through with that brand.
They're not saying that Kenney and the UCP are the Boogeyman, but they very well could be! Could Mass Murder be far behind?
Nah. Just disappointed UCP voters when they realize Kenney is delivering them a false bill of goods. Good hyperbole though! Almost as poignant as your assertion that everything and everybody is tied to Oil and Gas. In fact, I remember your face when people didn't agree with you:

The NDP campaign was a 28-day manure spreader
Quote:
Madu was defamed as a white supremacist sympathizer by Archer in a Press Progress story after Madu posted a photo of himself on his Facebook page with a campaign sign on a lawn that said “StopNotley.com,” which had a small logo from The Rebel media organization in the right top corner.
Madu’s rival tweeted before the April 1 Press Progress story appeared, calling on Madu to “apologize” for promoting The Rebel.
“My opponent is praising The Rebel,” Archer tweeted. “This is not who we are, Alberta. I call on my opponent (Madu) to apologize.”
The absurdity of that criticism is that Madu is a Nigerian-born black man. Clearly, the constituents of that riding weren’t buying the cynical hate-mongering by the NDP.
Quote:
“For lack of a better term, the NDP campaign was a 28-day manure spreader,” said Marc Henry, the president of ThinkHQ Public Affairs, whose polls forecast a UCP majority throughout the campaign.
“I kept expecting at some point in the campaign for the NDP to pivot off of the negativity. I found it ironic that the premier’s concession speech was the highlight of her campaign. If she would have taken that tone and content at the beginning of the campaign, she might have had a very different result,” said Henry.
