Stamps still hold the rights to Rysen John and are dealing with some injuries to some Canadian receivers. Likely still going to pursue NFL opportunities though.

Those early bye weeks were useless. Sure could use one now.

This continues the hollowing out of media outlets, with talent going to work directly for the teams.

The Bombers knew what they were doing when they moved on from him. Keeping their defense intact and bringing in Ellingson turned out to be shrewd decisions. Their FG kicking is their only glaring weakness right now.

Holy cow, unless the Stamps aren't releasing sections that are completely empty then it looks like there's only a few thousand tickets left for our Labour Day Classic.
EDIT: What a suspected is likely true - The upper sections aren't even available for purchase on ticketmaster for future, sure to be low attended games against the Lions/Argos etc. So that is dire then. Means there's probably 6-7k tickets not even for sale because they're so unwanted, plus the 5-6k lower tickets unsold.
So they're probably more like 23k sold.

Bad times in Calgary and the Flames have shown ZERO previous desire to do anything about it.
"Hey guys, fans aren't buying those tickets for $35 to sit in the high corners on high school style bleachers, wanna sell them really cheap and get young, potential new fans and additional food/beverage revenue in the stadium?"
"Nah, tell ticketmaster to grey them out and don't even bother trying to sell them, maybe those young potential fans will buy $80-$110 seats lower down instead, once they realize the higher up seats that they weren't willing to buy aren't available anymore!!!!".

Yeah I know, just a cool stat though to see. Same with Nate Burleson. Basically raised in the Pacific northwest, but born in Calgary from when his dad played with the Stamps. We don't have many NFLers, I'll take what we can get haha

Yeah, I have season tickets in the upper section and my dad wanted to go to the BC game last week so when I looked for tickets I couldn't understand why there were zero tickets available near me even though I know there are a ton of empty seats up there every game. That's when I figured they weren't selling up there trying to drive more people to the lower seats so it doesn't look so crappy on TV. I also got an email from my account manager the week before the game offering a "complimentary upgrade" to some lower middle seats as a "token of their appreciation". I have a feeling they may will continue to encourage people who sit higher up to move down lower and eventually potentially force them to and tarp off the upper seats. Attendance is just so poor right now, it does look pretty terrible. Not USFL bad, but not good in McMahon.

It looks brutal on TV. It's already 23-25k in a 36k stadium, but on top of that the cameras are obviously on one side for most of the action, so you're legitimately looking at a smattering of 12k-ish people.
Super quiet atmosphere on TV as well. I remember the stadium just rocking back in the mid-2000's.

And yeah, it looks like it is true that the Stamps have officially stopped sales of the upper 8 sections (2 in each corner) going forward, including the Labour Day Classic....yikes.
My rough count says those 8 sections account for about 8500-9000 seats, plus still thousands and thousands of available seats lower down. So safe to say this will be the lowest attended Labour Day game in club history by a major margin. Damn, that's sad.
Especially when other big games coming up are getting tweets about being sold out and setting new attendance records.

So how many yards is Rourke going to throw for against the Riders tonight? 550? and 6 TDs.

Riders D isn’t bad and managed to limit Rourke in the first half last time. It’ll take an inspired performance to do it again. The problem is that the Lions O will be on the field for 80% of the game because Riders will be going 2 and out every drive.
The real question is Fajardo. I bet his game total is less than Rourke gets in any quarter. So I’d set the o/u at 125.
