This draft seems to only have skilled players that are undersized, so if you're looking for high end talent, expect sub 6 footers.
I was thinking same or a complimentary style to Mangiapane. This kid makes great passes and you can see the IQ right away. He'll be interesting to follow over the coming years.
His performance in the playoffs wasn't great last season but I guess that might be why he's a late 2nd rounder. Will most likely be a winger if he makes the NHL.
My son played spring hockey with Dillon once in a while. His grandma was an Olympic speed skater and worked on his stride early. He was always years ahead of peers in skating. He is intense, plays bigger than he is. Very cool, was hoping he would be me a Flame.

Loved his rationale for not being at the draft in person - said he is too competitive and even though he figure he would go in Round 2, he couldn't take sitting in the stands and watch guys ( who he thinks he is better than) get drafted ahead of him! Now that is compete!

I love that !! Thats a competitor!
This kid has a lot of tools, obviously he can skate but he has a really quick shot and a nasty back-hander in close.
He can handle the puck in traffic and can complete high end moves in tight spaces.
He can also dish the puck, and in a lot of plays, for him to be able to make a great pass, hes usually battling to get into a good passing position first. And he manages to hold the puck after most of those battles, creating odd man chances or creating confusion.
Like this pick a lot. Mangiapane comparison is great.
The Flames really have the systemic depth in place, where they can afford to lose post-Entry-Level-Contract guys like Mangiapane after a cup run, and replace them internally. Screams Chicago model.
Their announcers goal call is awful... "SSSCCCCCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"
Funny... the "SSSSCCCCAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" starts off at the same tone as the Kelowna goal horn too (most clear at 1:43)
It's like he's singing karaoke to a goal horn backing track
