Granlund would have looked good here. This one kind of irks me more than Stone.

Gives Nashville Johansen, Turris and Granlund down the middle. Nasty. Great move by Poile.

One for one? Has Fenton gone nuts! This is just like the Niederreiter-Rask trade which already looks bad. The dismantling of Minnesota is well under way.

Yeah I thought Fenton would be a good GM but he's made two terrible trades.
Niederreiter
Granlund
for
Fiala
Rask
That's Chiarelli levels of bad.

I don't really understand this trade from the Wild's point of view but it's a fantastic trade for the Predators.

The only way it makes sense is that the Wild wanted to shed cap and get younger. But at what cost Granlund is an excellent talent, and at 26 is still very youthful. That said, he was only under contract for one more year and is due for a raise. Still, easily a win for Nashville. The wild have been stuck in purgatory for what seems like forever.

He also said Hayes was going to Calgary and Mark Stone to Winnipeg. He says a lot of things. If you say enough, you’ll be right eventually.

Niederreiter, Coyle, and now Granlund.
The Wild that we have come to know are going to look very different next year.

This one was different from the others. Very specific and not a trade that was expected or predicted by anyone else.

Wild have identified that there is something fundamentally wrong with their core players. They are kind of blowing it up.
It is certainly head scratching as to some of the returns, but gotta commend them for deciding to make moves early instead of just being a bubble team year after year.

I really think people are underrating Fiala. Had 48 points in 80 games last year, and 32 in 64 this year... so not lighting the world on fire, but also seems like a solid 2nd liner who certainly has enough skill to do more damage than he has. He'll be an RFA but given his disappointing season you might lock him up at a bit of a discount. I think he has more to give.
Granlund's obviously a better player but it's not as big a fleecing as some people seem to think, in my opinion.

Nashville, Vegas, San Jose and Winnipeg all get better today. And Calgary improved Stockton's defense?

Wow Fenton got bent over big time. Honestly this trade is so bad, I know +/- can be deceiving but the majority of predators are positive while Fiala is a -11. If you are trying to rebuild why not try getting picks for a pretty decent asset.
