I have to admit I hadn't even heard of Louis Domingue. I used to be pretty good at knowing the Flames prospects

He isn't a prospect. He is someone they signed to be a 3rd goalie on the taxi squad.

So the question here is does someone give Ho-Sang a shot. Seems pointless to have him continue in the Islander organization.

I wouldn't be too surprised if NJ claims Domingue.

New Jersey is the only one that jumps out that he would be an upgrade on what they currently have. Juulson is an interesting one, but only if he's allowed to be carried on the taxi squad without waivers.

You need waivers to go on the taxi squad.

NJ might be a good option for Ho-Sang. Hischier is injured and Bratt is still unsigned. Lots of room in their lineup.

Setting up the taxi squad for at least 3 of the 5 guys. Now waiver exempt for the next 30 days, assuming they clear tomorrow

I'd gamble on grabbing Ho-Sang. Can you re-waive them if it doesn't pan out?

Watch Edmonton claim Ho-Sang, because, inexplicably, Oilers gunna Oil.

They'll be waiver-exempt until they spend at least 30 days (cumulative) on the NHL roster or play 10 NHL games (I don't know if these numbers will be prorated for the short season).

As long as they're on the taxi squad, it will be like they're in the AHL.

According to CapFriendly they are not prorated.

Domingue was a backup in Tampa and Arizona. More of a vet than a prospect

It will be funny if the Oilers claim Ho-Sang, he proceeds to light it up for the first 20 games. While fans think the Oilers finally got their saviour, the team renews him for 6x6 on the spot. Then he turns into James Neal 2.0...

Can you waive/demote someone later who you have claimed off waivers, or is he locked into your NHL team for the duration of the season? My memory is fuzzy on this.

I could see someone claiming Juulsen.

Maxime Lajoie really impressed me in Ottawa last year. Very Kylington-esque, right down to wearing 58.

I’ll be surprised if he gets claimed but I think he can be a solid player.

He only played 6 games in Ottawa last season and was scoreless.

You're probably thinking of the year before, when he had 7 goals and 15 points in 56 games.

Yup, time flies. He looked pretty good back then though.
