Kind of hard not to cheer for any team that Alfonzo is on. I feel cheap cheering for a team at the top of the table, but atleast they wear Red.

Borussia Dortmund has been my Bundesliga team since I was a kid, so it will be fun to watch them on Sportsnet. Schalke is a big local rival, so that game should be worth waking up at 7:30 for.

17 year old Gio Reyna starts ahead of Sancho (calf problem) for Dortmund today. Going to be interesting, he's looked fantastic in limited action before the lockdown.

EDIT: ah looks like Reyna's hurt in the warmout and is out. Too bad.

No Reyna is too bad, the hype is real.

For a few hours today the world can be mostly normal

It's been a fun match so far, and its great to have some semblance of normalcy.

I like the foot-tap to end the matches, lol

It’s weird to have no fans and it does take away from it, but it’s nice to have some live sports to watch.

Julian Brandt just bossed that match from start to finish.

Up at 5:15am to watch the Hamburg game. Once again, they concede an equalizer in the dying seconds. Football is truly back.

The good news is that with both Stuttgart & Heidenheim losing, we move from playoff to automatic promotion on goal differential. With games remaining against both Bielefeld & Stuttgart, we control our own destiny. I remain unconvinced that this is a good thing.

NUR DER HSV!

Stuttgart got shafted by VAR at the end. Only have themselves to blame though, even 1-1 would have been a poor result. Oh well, at least Bielefeld and Hamburg conceded late as well. Still a snail's pace at the top.

How are Stuttgart and Hamburg in Div 2? I must be living in the past.

pure incompetence. It's quite comical actually, there was a ton of Schadenfreude when Hamburg was relegated two years ago. Both clubs have a really good foundation on paper and should be consistent top 10 clubs (you know, like they were in the past), but they pretty much blew it with mismanagement and bad decisions.
