What are they whining for. Same as Ottawa, one more than Calgary, Toronto and Montreal. Two more than Winnipeg.
Four more than the Canucks is the only major difference.
Edit: Nevermind. I forgot E=NG and their ancestors have been incessant whiners for centuries. That's exactly why they're where they are. Someone somewhere else told them to stop whining or get lost.

"Last year, Miikko Koskinen (.917 save percentage in 38 games) and Mike Smith (.902 save percentage in 39 games) were good enough to get the Oilers into the playoffs,"
Obviously not, because they didn't.

Most back to backs are playing the same team who is also playing the back to back.
It would be interesting to see what their fresh team vs tired team ratio is. They have been extremely fortunate in that area last couple seasons.
Edit - I guess the Oil do get 3 nights being the tired team over vise versa

These writers shouldn't give the mouthbreathers up north any excuses to fall back on. There were no complaints the last few years when the Oilers were head and shoulders above the league in the playing tired opponents while rested. And still couldn't make the playoffs. Dems da breaks. E=NG.

I don't know how anyone can look at that atrocious bottom 6, the worst blueline in the Canadian division and a goaltending situation of Koskinen can't catch and Grandpa Smith and say, yeah, that's a first place team.
The Oilers have
Draisaitl, McDavid, and RNH(Not for long)
That is literally all.
It wasn't enough to get them into the playoffs last year, they look worse this year and Yamamoto won't be the answer they're looking for.
Sorry Oiler Fans Trix are for kids.

I didn’t think the Mike Smith in Edmonton story could get any better. And then he re-signs minutes after the very last appealing goalie remaining signed somewhere else. Bahahaha they deserve each other.

The Edmonton Hockey Club has signed a Slater Koekkoek.

Lmao at those two getting them into the 24 team play-ins getting spun as an accomplishment.

When it comes to Edmonton, you can almost describe them as the Free Agent version of the village of the broken toys.
For players on the downswing or never will bes. You get a contract and you get a contract and here you go mr one eyed doll with a tire track over your chest, you especially get a contract.

If the Oilers don't make the playoffs this year (unlikely looking at that thing they call a roster) and with 11 players under contract next year at 50 million, and there's not likely to be a cap bump.
They need to trade one of the wonder twins, and finally do a proper rebuild. If McDavid can't drag their sorry arses into the promised land, then its a failed core built around him.

I dont see how the Oilers cant make the playoffs this year.
That 'Canadian Division' looks insanely weak.

Just think Connor, if you didn't sign the mega contract with the Oilers you could be outta Edmonton in a year and a half.

Playing the Ottawa Senators 10 times is like when 5-year olds in South Park played against the Detroit Red Wings.

It's the same for five other Canadian teams. Can the Oilers do better than even two of them? I remain dubious.
