I have a couple printers. Do you have the files to print or are you asking for someone to design it first? Send me a PM and we can probably work something out.

Somehow I feel it would be awkward to go to a library and print out a gun replica and then walk it to your car. You'd become a youtube star as the police cruisers came screaming in.

It'll be all good as long as he remembers to get a trigger lock printed as well.

You might find buying an already completed replica M1 Garand off ebay or something for cheaper. A full scale 3D print would run you likely over $200 commercially (would have to be done in pieces, and 3d model modified to do so), also may have to pay for the 3d model file if you can't find a free one. Can be cheaper if you get someone to do a favor. It would also require painting after, and may not be the most durable to have a child handle.

^^ thanks Archer, this is the info I as looking for. Had no idea of cost, it would be more a fixed item and not a play toy. Likely too much based off your estimate and comments

Also if you need the STL Yeggi is a great resource to find free models. It searches a number of data bases that are pay or free.
https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/m1-garand is an STL you have to pay for
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1729635 is a free STL
Lots can go into the cost of the print but raw materials shouldn't be more than a roll of filament (40$). We have a 3D printer but the print bed can only handle 22cm x 22 cm x 25 cm so the scale of this wouldnt work!

Its going to sound weird, but there are lots of plans out there for Star wars helmets, Stormtroopers, clone troopers and pilots, that would be cool to print out and paint as a hobby.
It'd be like model building.

Lot's of people use them to build mini drone frames or camera mounts for drones. Lot's of neat ways to use them, just wish the resolution was a bit better.

We've used these guys for some work projects. You can at least send them the file and have them give a quote to see if its worth it. I found the price reasonable for what we needed printed.
